Welcome to our home page, Sassy Central.  The music on this site is an example of how dreams come true by thinking, feeling, taking action and accepting life's bounty. This site isn't a step-by-step guide on how to find wealth and enlightenment - but the music is filled with essentials of making any journey more prosperous. We're not a self-help site but people who are willing to help themselves find the music and information entertaining, intriguing and relevant.  Although some of the music will make people feel-good for a little while, the purpose of Gen-Ray Records and the passion of 'tude vox Ro is to produce music that supports personal responsibility in co-creating life and feel better, in any circumstance.  This isn't about ancient or New Age religion - but people from all religions and no religion find threads of universal truth weaved throughout the site and songs.

Gen-Ray Records produces a new genre of music - designed for the generation of light. From the beginning of time, humans have made music to express themselves and share emotions. As we hop-scotch through the first decade of the 21st Century, this generation begs the courtship of science and religion, marriage of mind, body and soul and divorce from the victim consciousness holding humanity in slavery throughout history.

There are a lot of places to find "Positive Music", including this site. What makes us different is that we address real emotions with lyrics that relate to hard times, as well as peaceful bliss. "There is a time for every purpose under Heaven", even those uncomfortable moments. But instead of enforcing these difficulties, the lyrics of 'tude vox Ro offer food for spiritual and personal growth. Majic Music puts all of this together for your entertainment and enjoyment.

Brad Richard, USA Talk Radio Show host, is doing his part to wake up every-day people, provoke critical thinking and co-create a better world by following his heart and expressing his passion. Like me, he sees a world of people with more in common than different, understands the urgent need for ordinary people to come together to create extraordinary results and rather than fracturing an already divisive environment, he agrees to disagree about superfluous details, preferring to find common ground from which to establish a foundation for cooperation. Artist Spotlight

As any independent artist will tell you, earning a living creating original music that doesn't fit into the global "format" is next to impossible. Short of a miracle, most musicians never get their music heard by more than friends and family. The ones that "make it", often find themselves encumbered by record label contracts that limit self-expression to that which is proven "marketable". Unfortunately, music lovers around the globe grow weary of the same sound and lose appreciation for the art.

Fortunately, I'm not the only one who wants to change the world. Three independent musicians named Jeff, Carl and Gary have created an internet radio station and website called Indielink, Linking the Independent Artist Community, to facilitate talented artists rise to ranks of ... marketability. I was honored when they invited me to be featured in their Artist Spotlight. Gary and I talked for two hours on the telephone before he did the show. I was amazed at his ability to capture the spirit of my work.

Please listen FREE to the 45 minute Artist Spotlight for 'tude vox Ro here and if you are so moved, thank Indielink for their gift to the Independent Musician community and music lovers everywhere.

skaven - 10 September 2009

Impressive! Guitars and vocals really shine, but that drum track's no slouch either - wow! I get the same Heart vibe Annette mentioned; I'm also reminded of Yes somewhat, but all in all it's a unique stew and a fine collaboration. Enjoyed, rated!
David Joel Carter - 06 September 2009

Crackin tune love the surreal harmonys they take me to another world.Heck of a lot going on in this tune, the bassline at the energetic start is nicely done.Guitars as always class. This would fit in a Tarantino film for sure.R.
GravitySlip - 03 September 2009

Good work you guys, needs more top end eq tho - y'kno a bit more sparkle. It would bring out the iod!ne solo and Ro's vox just right I reckon. Good song and some great orchestration on it. Cool vibe too dudes. ABP

ericethann - 12 January 2009

Dude, this kicks ass. Love the clean dark intro and the typically iOD!NE solo after. Vocals are very cool, almost robotic get melodic in places - real progressive track. Love the solo - swept arp section is wicked;-) Havent heard you in ages, this a very nice comeback. All buttons pushed including a nomination.
Superhuman - 11 January 2009

Very dark... me likey! As always loving the distinctive Rich sound, sweet sweeps & fast scaling. I've got to get a Tube Screamer! I love those quick 3rd progressions you toss in in spots. Ro was born for this genre. Nice touch with the reverb & delay on the sax. Now I can sleep... ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz... snore, snort... paws jerking. This gets my last Nom!
Kelly Mitchell - 09 January 2009

That's big. Certainley transported me somewhere new. Excellent combination of styles and difficult to fault any part. Effortless production as in it is very smooth and didnt distract my ear from the flow.
This Circle Squared - 09 January 2009

very cool. I agree the vox are just perfect, the delivery is bang on, love the harmonies. Guitar work is amazing, wow. The whole mix, lyrics and everything else is just excellent and the sax at the end is a perfect addition. Wow again. Verrrrry coool!
Sugarbee - 08 January 2009

It's hard to say anything new about Richards guitar genius...it's fantastic...the vocals are utterly captivating and PERFECT for this song....just amazing really....the percussion was inspired and very unconventional I felt...and the sax was just a magic way to finish. How could I give this less than a nom? It would be ridiculous. ALL buttons pushed...and 'll be back for more listens definitely.
dawnsinclair - 08 January 2009

Pretty bloomin amazing if you ask me!! An impressive construction of metal/alt music, lyrically and musically. Very original and beautiful. The easiest of of rates I have ever given.
Barry
indiana 99 - 07 January 2009

very good and dark, gives me a chill. interesting chord changes. the vocal is very expressive while not overdoing it. sounds a bit like the female singer of jefferson airplane. good work. and the sax is beautiful, too.
Tom Joas - 06 January 2009

Nice rock tune, i really like the vocals in there. That sax at the end was a nice touch too. Niceone
Bluntman - 26 December 2008

cool! reminded me of a Alice Cooper-Sabbath type of vibe... but totally original.... wicked guitars throughout and wow Ro, this was different for you, eh.... bet you had fun letting loosed on that, huh.... great stuff all around!!
Mark Holley - 26 December 2008

LOVE (shout) the clock!! Superb track all round.
DaveRave - 24 December 2008

Some nice laser synths to lead us in ^^ Nice fx and here comes some fierce guit action, wasn't expecting those vocals but they work. Very trippy, nice work!
Gavin Valentine - 24 December 2008

Early King Crimson, anyone?
TonyMillerLive - 24 December 2008

Drums a bit back in the mix, otherwise scarily good!
TonyMillerLive - 24 December 2008

Meant to say "excellent performances, ALL of you!"
David Joel Carter - 23 December 2008

Huge sound, like them vocals way up front like this, very powerful mix. Like this arrangement, got a bit of Metallica/Pink Floyd feel to it, closing out with that sax was a bit of genius. Excellent performances, both of ya, and high marks for production.
David Joel Carter - 23 December 2008

Great choice for the vocal work. Though dark and slow, the whole thing still felt rather epic. I was surprised just after the 4 minute mark when things changed up a bit and the sax came in. That part took the song to a whole new level. Awesome work all around.
LegionSt - 23 December 2008

Oh Yes this is SOOOOooooo Good!
riddle - 22 December 2008

cool work guys...as always axe of the highest quality :) instantly recognizable... happy xmas dude...and all the best for the new year :)
thumbs up
MD-1 Project - 21 December 2008

Oh & the sax is brill Scott, adds real character & well played! Knew I missed something out!
sony67 - 21 December 2008

This is a great job well done guys! Very dramatic theme which I love, the echo on the vocal is cool. Love the vocal Rosemarie - well done girl for stretching your boundaries beyond the 'known'. Cool guitars Mr Iodine. Great work guys!
sony67 - 21 December 2008

What a great job done with the lyrics and vocals. You must be very proud that you have pushed your boundaries this far and pulled it off in style Rosemarie. Awesome instrumentation in this track and well done all concerned.
DSSMusic - 21 December 2008

I agree with the nu-goth feel comments. This is very good, large operatic forces are at work here, methinks.
NaughtyStep - 20 December 2008

excellent tune, i thought the instruments could come up a bit though, felt like the band was way behind the vox
ALANK - 20 December 2008

You know my thoughts - this is brilliant dude. Ro knows my thoughts - awesome vocal. I even think Scott knows my thoughts (did i email him?) - top-notch sax and great mix. Stuff
James Oakwood - 19 December 2008

Rock opera lives! Real powerful stuff, great full sound from that confident vocal, and some serious guitar stuff happening. Nice one.
Deon - 19 December 2008
"don't forget to clap as it is a li'l sing along!" LOL, right Rich. A sing-a-long. LOL.
Rosemarie - 18 December 2008

ARCTURUS hahahha this is awsome but strate off sidshow synphony rated and recomended ;)
skaven - 18 December 2008

Nice theater music and awesome voice of Rosemarie.
For you all buttons pushed hard.
Joseph - 15 December 2008

Rich, just a terrific song and wonderful vocals by Rosemarie. Am I detecting a somewhat subtle movement of the great axemen/women? on the site to start to include the electronica sound or is this always been and I'm just an old man with a shrinking brain. Either way, this is sweeet and dark. I'll listen to this to get to sleep tonight for sure.....;-+.

Dan
Beluga - 15 December 2008

This is a good one.....gothy kind a thing........sort of Buffy/Angel feel to it.......sax is nice.....vocals are too.......feels a bit incomplete arrangement-wise but would work on tv.Kevin Mooney
foonk - 14 December 2008

Delicious nigth alone walker feeling...r
Terrible Diva - 14 December 2008

Quite dramatic stuff. Ro's voice really seems to suit this style, kind of Prog rock/theatrical vocals. Music as always is excellent. Look forward to the final mix. Rated.

This is a collab w iodine right? I love this piece. Think Annie Haslam. Great vocal pipes you have. -rl

Comment by riddle on 11 August 2009
Oh yeah this is so good

Another cracking track!
Excellent production. Fantastic guitar work from Rich. And a very good Solid vocal from Ro.
Lyrically, i didnt quite totally 'get' them all. And maybe the lyrics are a bit too smart for their own good. But none the less, there is some very clever word play, and use of 'not very often heard words in songs', which is an art in itself, and that in turn makes the listener question/concentrate deeper on the actual lyrical content.
Superbly presented, modern rock, with enough melodic hooks too reel anyone in:)
Mark
MarkAlexander - 03 September 2009

I had another listen and had to rate it!
LODATO - 28 August 2009

I love how you're rockers, but slip in a tad of electronica. I guess Yes was an electronica pioneer. You really have the Yes sound down to a tee. Drums and guit are dead on Yes... but still very Rich. Vox are similar but unique and wonderful as well. I would have to listen very hard to find any fault. Just a few scratches in the edits. Other than that it is perfect. Sounds like a group that should be making mega bucks! I'll be DLing, rating & nomming fo tru! Very nice!
Kelly Mitchell - 24 August 2009

You two make such an awesome team! Fantastic music arrangement with Ro's great vocals, ~well just a great tune! Lots of power! Production sounds tops also! Kudos, you rockers!! :)
Carol Kirkpatrick - 20 August 2009

Excellent arrangements and clean vox that glue this track together nicely. Love it. Reminds me of modern day Renaissance. -rl

LODATO - 16 August 2009

Stunning collab, all sounds are very clear in the mix.Rosemarie, the vocals are amazing on this...and as for that guitar solo its jaw dropping!.Powerful song and class lyrics.Congrats.
GravitySlip - 16 August 2009

Hey Rich this track kicks ass! From the word go it's full of energy then the guitars crash is - very cool. On the mix, the guitars could be a tad low or the vox ever so slightly high? Just a smidgen to my ear perhaps. Anyway, the drums sound awesome, really good. Vocals as always are excellent, this track sits nicely with the last few you two have done. At this rate you guys could have aviable EP coming together. Must comment on the gutiar solo, excellent as per usual. Is that a harmoniser or multi-tracking? Sounds cool! Deserving of a rate and a hard to get nomination. Well done guys!
Superhuman - 16 August 2009

This is sounding much more 'complete' in the new upload -- I'd never know that that the vocals were sent from afar. The dramatic lyrics suit the super rock treatment in a fine, fine way. Very nice collab. Congrats.
Valerie Willoughby - 10 August 2009

YES
Love everything here
riddle - 09 August 2009

This is a cool and creepy foray into uncharted genre territory. Its so many different things. The mix sounds good and full. Nice spread across all the frequencies. Well done. Solo is AMAZING. Love it. Which I could play guitar like that. Well done. Rated.
WakeOfDestruction - 06 August 2009

Oh, wow. You have a nice electronic bass going on here. With a cool string! I love how you blast the drums in! That's awesome. This is very good. Nice a full! Nice and clear! I'm already loving the vocals. I can hear her sing with some "ah"'s in the background. The bass feels like it's coming through you. It's a heavy bass but it's not over excessive. Very good bass. Real strong.

I like the stoic kind of emotion from the vocals. It gives the song an emotion like a rock. The demonic vocals sound very good, too. Nice FX. Then we go into a crazy guitar SOLOOOOOOO. Yeahhhhhhh! That was awesome. Very well done. The song is really building now! Very serious and powerful. It started out as being a strong sounding song but now it's more than that. It's turning out to be a masterpiece.

Now a lingering calmer solo. This is a very well orchestrated song. Then an end. Wow! That was amazing! I can't believe it! THis has got to be the best song you've/you guys made :| Awesome collaboration. The emotion was just so solid sounding. Look at me ranting at this. lol

Scott did a really good job on the mastering. Everything sounds superb. It's very crisp, clear and vibrant with plenty of depth. Something hard to achieve! Wow, this was a pleasure to listen to. You all did a fantastic job. Nothing is out of place and there's plenty of everything to enjoy in this piece of musical ART. Holy cow. I'm definitely putting this on my nom decision list for the week. Definitely! Rated.
Andy Stokes - 05 August 2009

Cool song and I kinda understand the negative comments on the lyric. It is a difficult concept to grasp but it is a real concept (after conversing with Ro). There is no "solution" in the lyric either but I suspect this is intentional on Ro's part (she's so sneaky hee hee). Some of the vox sounded a little low (in the mix) in places but on 2nd listen and this doesn't seem apparent anymore. I'm trying to listen as if Ro is Jon Anderson and it's not there for me but I don't care.

Hey the guitar solo... Rich performs these nightly in his sleep but take nuthin away from THAT gentle strumming... it's top-notch.

The chorus is real sweet too. worn me fingers to the bone pressing buttons.
James Oakwood - 05 August 2009

Forgot to say...truly excellent lyrics!! so true!!
Storm Horses - 05 August 2009

This is so YES....FANTASTIC!! superb vocals, driving passionate drums and guitar and great keys. Powerful stuff.Rated for sure...really pro sound!!!
Storm Horses - 05 August 2009

this would be ok if the guitar solo's were toned down and the lyrical subject matter wasnt so irrelevant to anyone who doesnt really care for the case in hand, do i care? no it just annoys me which therein lies the problem with protest songs. A protest song needs to transcend knowledge gaps on the subject matter so that the listener doesnt feel preached upon or dictated to, regardless of how emotive the lyric it will be lost on most and annoy the rest. Sorry but thats an honest opinion, nothing ultimately wrong with the performances.
heliocentric - 05 August 2009

I've noticed this of Ros before. She definitely has a Jon Anderson sound to her voice. This type of music is enjoying a revival at the moment, so they tell me, but I've always liked it. I still play Fragile and The Yes Album regularly. Rate
TonyMillerLive - 04 August 2009
Absolutely stunning. Vocals are just terrific. Music is terrific. Wow. Gets everything I can push and then some. It actually reminds me of YES. Not sure why but it is just that good. Do I like it??? ahhhhh...yep...........................;oD!

Powerful opening!! Love the title and subject of the track! Lyrics are fabulous and bang on the subject. Ro's vocals are superb combined with the ultra talented Richard Iodine's musical prowess!!! Absolutely brilliant song writting, collaboration and production. I love it and it has such a powerful message! It has a Linkin Park feel to me, Love Linkin Park btw.......Rated Guys!!!! Barry

Comment by MarkAlexander on 30 August 2009
Hi Rose&Rich.....Rocking track this. Full of attitude. And that guitar work is truly what id define as 'Bitchin'! Tight production, great performances. But for me the Chorus's are just fantastic. They really make the song, just as a Chorus should do. Actually one of the finest choruses ive heard for quite a while. Not just unsigned but anywhere i mean. Thought Roses vox were maybe a tad too dry for such a big production, but her harmony/backing is brilliant. Gets my nom for the chorus alone. Fab! Mark

This is best described as One of the best if not the top Collab I have ever heard here at Mp3unsigned, everything is so tight, The Guitar is kicking this track way up there,The vocals put it in overdrive and really takes the prize, I love it all around and can't say enough about it. Vin

Stunning track. Some of your best vox ever. Great collab.

Comment by James Oakwood on 29 August 2009
Was this on Rich's page once? Whatever it's a fine track honey and your voice is top notch. Listening after hearing a few other tracks and it seems that a lift to the top end with equing would add more to the piece. rated.

I love the guitar on this track....also, the vox are masterful! Reminiscent of Rush and I'm sure you've already heard that a million times before....Excellent, enjoyable track!
Chickie - 19 May 2009

Saw this reposted on the homepage with the mastering in place so I had to check it out again. Sounds a lot fuller now especially on the low end, guitars have a very original 'razor' type tone - makes the chopping rhtyhm very easy to hear and nice and tight. Vocals are really excellent on this track and very memorable. Will rate again if I can!
Superhuman - 10 May 2009

Definitely a Jon Anderson vibe in this - no bad thing! Hook is good. Some nice dynamic changes which is always appreciated in this kind of work. Drums could come forward a tad but not essential.
TonyMillerLive - 10 May 2009

Sorry I'm so late, track is actually quite amazing, the vocals are strong from start to finish, great hook on the chorus, great guitar and drums, very crunchy. I'll mention the lead vocal again cos it's really good, yeah I got that little Rush thing going on as well, sounds fantastic. Really unexpected in a good way :)
geiger167 - 01 May 2009

WOW!!! i AM OVERFOUNDED & DUMBWHELMED!

I'm on my 4th listen now, but the first tidbit raised my goosebumps immediately. Love the drum roll (64th notes?). I have to say that I rarely enjoy vox at all and even more rarely listen to lyrics. I first hear the vox as an instrument and rate it as such, ROSiE iS iNCREDiBLE! I had to take in the track on the first listen as instrument notes only, then I gave the vox a listen on the second run through, then the lyrics on the third. OMG!!!! What musical genious-esses! The fourth run made my eyes well with tears at it's overall brilliance. Normall I would rave about th incredible guit 1st, but I hav to say the bass stands out as the most intriquing part of the production. You are SO Yes RiCH! DL-ing & adding to my all star unsigned collection, rating, nomming and playing agin. Oh Yeah, Love the rap! I can see Rose doing the hand gestures.. LOL! "Not Later!" Great Job You Two!
Kelly Mitchell - 30 April 2009

Been so long since I visited your page, glad i did cause I always enjoyed your tracks. Good running riffage on bass and Guitar strings are beautiful. realy enjoyed this so much.

WOW RO! YOU SURE HAVE DONE YOURSELF PROUD WITH THIS SPOT ON VOCAL PERFORMANCE! :)
Extremely well sung, with the harmonies being spot on also! They are also very well recorded - sound mint and the timing is hot! Very good job! ;)
This is hot track! Makes me wanna mosh at 2.50mins lol! I look forward to hearing a mastered mix if this for sure!

Essence - 28 April 2009

Hey guys, love the drama in this tune, Rosemarie, your vocals really suit this style & Iodine's playing just rocks in this. Great tune - yep great stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed this fine piece of work. R + N 4 sure. Sonya Stewart.
sony67 - 27 April 2009

Rich you freaking monster!!!! Listen to that guitar rippage! The vocals remind me of rush. Man, honestly this song would have been #1 during those hair metal days. This is well done. Im reading that Ro added the vocals after as it was an instrumental first. Wow well done Ro, my first reaction was that it sounded like they were made for eachother.

Ro has so much attitude in this track. Reminds me of Rush. Although the Rush singer was a man, he sang in that high voice. Nommed for f-in sure! I hope these collabs keep on coming.great for the site
Redshirt Theory - 27 April 2009

Over the top of excellence! Brilliant song/collab! Ro, your voice is amazing, love it! You go, girl! Rich - you are just most excellent! Would love to attend the show and see you all perform this live! Start to finish, awesome! ~Nominated!~ ;)
Carol Kirkpatrick - 27 April 2009

Great vox and superb guitar playing. Dunno how Ro managed to thread such a cool and clever vox melody with all the changes in the music. I heard it without vox and it takes a real talent to craft that sort of melody over an "already" made instrumental. Hat's off to you both for an excellent piece of rock. The drum rolls at the start were great but the drums fall a little into the depths of the mix when Ro is singing. Hope this can be remedied. Rated+

I'm in a similar situation here in the UK, doing the nine to five grind, but each day, the threat of redundancy hovers over all our heads. If that happens, I'm basically stuffed!

Massive job losses went through two months ago, and we're already down to a skeleton staff, as the workforce has been slashed in half, and now struggling to do the job of two people on half the pay - whilst, of course the bosses have awarded themselves huge, fat pay bonuses, and they never have to feel the worry and dread that comes with that feeling of 'living on borrowed time' - as their positions are secure, regardless of the 'economic situation'.

So - to cut it short, excellent piece of work, and one that I'm convinced a great many of us here can personally relate to.
Ffabbia - 27 April 2009

Good song. Excellent vocals and musicianship throughout. Like the changes in dynamics and structure, kinda progressive. It's a really strong track from both of you. Rated.

My brain is gone. But not my ears. Thought I had postedd a comment. Musta forgot. Still, listened to this after you posted and made the necessary adjustments. HEEHEE. Love this song do I. Yes, it's like yes but Jon Anderson never sounded quite like RoseMarie. Rich, you are always top notch and this is no exception.

Like this a lot - reminds me of Rush a bit - no bad thing. Agree with the message - it's nice to hear a social comment to music. Lasting change usually only comes about in increments. The mess we're in politically and ecologically needs needs a big leap which I fear will be too much for many to take on board...Well done
NaughtyStep - 26 April 2009

Top record label material for sure.
A really powerful piece and the rap section was a pleasant surprise.

A class act.
DaveRave - 26 April 2009

Great track guys - cracking collab. Nice performances as to be expected - excellent vocals that totally suit the music. Guitar work is spot on, like the way the bass shines through on the mix. Only complant on the mix is the rhythm tone sounds a little 'hairy' - could be a bit on the trebly side or possibly overly distorted. Anyway, totally love the speed section at about th 2.55 mark - my kind of playing;-) Strings sound saccompany the track perfectly - vocals really shine on this track, chorus is memorable and catchy. Hoep to hear more from you two! Rated and nom'd.

Storm Horses - 25 April 2009

Huge wall of sound rollin' outta my speakers, very impressed with the production on this number. Like the choice of instruments, the violin contrasts nicely with the rugged rock guitar and drum tracks. The big, bold vocals sitting way up front remind me a bit of the Wilson sisters from Heart (nice job, Ro, and some great lyrics. Post'em, would ya?) The accompaniment kept bringing the glory days of Yes and Asia to mind and leaves me one happy listener. Powerful song, very well done and highly recommended.

I think this is great. Those vox are not too loud to my shell-likes, but I do think they need more 'air' - Andy, you know what I mean, tweak the EQ up about 12KHz - just a touch dull. Just looked at my previous comment and said the same thing then, so either ol' Hank's ears are knackered or there is a tweak required! Good work guys!
TonyMillerLive - 10 September 2009

Powerfull stuff, very dramatic and quite unpredictable first time round.Nice brass sound, adds a nice touch. That chorus would definitely fit in a Bond movie.ABP
Kiss the Abyss - 09 September 2009

Frickin fantastic sound guys! Only comment on the sound is the excellent vocals are a tad too loud (to my ears). Real dramatic feel to this piece, fantastic track. Loved everything about this one, vocals are spot on and the music is really well composed - not to busy for me. Plenty of drama and nice direction. Rated and nominated.
Superhuman - 06 September 2009

Well what can I say, great stuff guys! Vocals performed excellent mizz rosemarie. love that brass type sound there, gives the production it's character. Guitar work perfect & production perfect - Don't expect anything less from james aka oakwood! My only small crit. is that it needs a breakdown somewhere, but the rest as good as it gets! Brill work all! Ooh defo. rate!

WOW! Why am I just hearing this? GREAT! All Buttons mashed!
Kelly Mitchell - 21 November 2008

Got to this one eventually! Like others, I feel the vocal needs room to breathe - a nice quiet section to get the words across. Otherwise a good track. Enjoyed the brass. I got a King Crimson feel at times :-)

Very busy powerful and very talented work throughout. Love the vocals - only thing I would say is that there could be a break or two to give prominence to the guitar or the vocals or both to give just a bit of variation and focus. Great track can`t wait for the DL to keep me awake on my travel to work.
Paul Joyce - 14 September 2008

Its like a climb to the edge of the atmosphere looking at the unknown mass of ligth that heads toward us and crying it welcome....and the music builds this feeling...I enjoyed twice then when i found the lyrics it shined.

Storm Horses - 31 August 2008

This is a very big and busy track Andy. That trumpet effect is very innovative. I agree that there is a lot going on in the chord / fuzzy guitar dept there and its clashing a bit and even detracting from the vocals a little bit. Overall a great track Andy and deserves a rating.
Mykyndryd - 29 August 2008

nice to see you back Andy! there are some great elements here but it really needs a re arrangement, its like being bombarded by noise for longer than required, great performances but too much competition with frequencies and instruments, the drums drown in a sea of mid range, i certainly would not want to mix this as it is. The track has a a big feel to it the vocal works but i find the lyrics a little pretentious. I dont want to come over as too negative cause this is a fine track but some of the fat needs cutting out to give it some much needed air. All the best mate

ANDYF - 27 August 2008

Big Big Sounds...wow...
Sure has that epic feel, and Mr Bond lookin to shoot one, or lay another!.
I get the feeling its a bit busy tho.....and a mid refrain to allow some air into it. Mid section vocal lines seem a little odd too.....they fit, but its just the melody sits outside the normal phrasing boxes. But, i guess thats whats unique anout it. Best, Mick

acoustimick - 26 August 2008

This song should be in the next next James Bond. I feel the song is too long though. Awesom Guitars and instrumentation. Sounds a bit too busy throughout, but maybe that is a unique thing about this one. I love the prechorus/chorus. Beautiful voice as well for this, powerful and nice BV's too. Yes..this should be the next James Bond track. I love how it sounds like a mix of 70's and modern blended together.

Nice work on this song and all the best with it.

keystevens - 24 August 2008

nice intro :) reminded me a bit of mark ronson stuff for a few seconds there...then went on a different tangent when the vocals came in...quite the epic really....good performance all round me thinks...its not your best mix andy but still sounds good...some nice touches through out....liked the delay on the vocal...and really good guitar :) and bas... think maybe the drum track is a bit to heavy for me...think it would sound more like a bond track with less percussion...still a good track and the percussion works well...just think less would be better :) cool stuff guys
thumbs up
MD-1 Project - 24 August 2008

Well done you 3. Sounds very much like a Bond-song, with an epic-feel. Would love to see the light show for this one. It begs to be performed live. Loved the vox and the music-track. Lyric is interesting. Only nit: it might be a bit repetitious and long, but if you like it, you may not care. Dean

Gday Andy, DJ, Allan and Craig have pretty much covered what can be said. Big song, big sound and a huge effect. Re the all verse, all chorus, I think if a song repeats a line (in this case "Ever After"0, it can cover the need for a chorus in some cases. This one is an example of that in the writing side.Dynamics wise it could a difference I concede. Great job on vox Ro and can see why Dj alluded to SB and her soundtrack efforts.Maybe a huge Sci fi film soundtrack? Loved the guitar work Rich, esp after pre verse 3 and Andy, the everything else bit was pretty darn good too mate :) Great collab and rated, cheers Anton.
Anton H - 22 August 2008

Can't help but think of some of the great soundtracks Shirley Bassey did for the Bond flicks, this is huge! Lush arrangement and professional performances and production, very impressive guys (and girl!) Rated.
David Joel Carter - 22 August 2008

This one must have been a challenge to sing, the vocal has a really big Linda Rondstant vibe (remember her lol) which I really like, it sounds very big to say the least. The instrumental track is crazy epic as well lol. I like the little delay swells on the vocals as well. From an arrangement point of view after the guitar solo, a dropout might be nice as well (like the intro feel) as the song really needs a breather before the big finish, perhaps a dropout with just a verse with a building piano and the other elements before the big finish, but this is just a personal wish as I cant find anything really wrong with the track lol and have to moan about something lol. Good to see you guys back anyway :)
geiger167 - 21 August 2008

Liked the WIP very much. Always sounded kinda difficult to imagine vox on. It's a very grandiose piece of music. Ro has done well. The vocals sound big and theatrical which is in keeping with the music. Only small crit, the melody of the vocals doesn't seem to change throughout. It's either one huge verse or one huge chorus. That said it's a good melody and great performances all round, just lacking a little in the way of dynamics. Rated.

Review by ConKuss on Saturday, September 30, 2006
Ro makes music in the chosen genres of Indie, Jazz and Dance (and possibly more) - all three styles are covered nicely in the three songs available from her page here at mp3unsigned. This track is a slightly indie sounding affair, for sure, it's downbeat, but with an uplifting message. Is it a message that the world is actually hearing and taking notice of at the moment? Unless enough people push the message forwards that this song holds, I'm of the opinion that love will never really stand a chance out there. The lyrics here are of a rather good quality, sensitively written, dealing with the more negative aspects of modern life, with a constant underlying message - Offering Love as the answer to our problems, be they famine, war, politics, religious fanaticism or violence. I'm seriously not doing this review to muse on what's happening out there in the real, dusty, blood-spattered world, but this song keeps drawing me back. Musically, the whole track works for the subject matter, creating a Lo-Fi, slow burning, laid back, yet menacing atmosphere that drips into your mind almost forcibly. At times, the music does start to feel a little "loopy" in it's nature, but the vocals and lyrical content pull it through this. All in all, a very satisfying listen, well written and performed, with a background message of love that is prevented from getting too cloying by the initial presentation of quite dark subject matters.

Comment by ConKuss on Sunday, October 22, 2006
New vocals and it shows - lovely work here, Ro. :) Lots more attitude now - love it, loving the contradictions of the negative situations and the half-positive message to come from them all. Your performance is both mature in sound and young in feeling (aided by the angsty lyrics, I guess) - a good style indeed. So, on the vocal front, everything is peachy now. The music is class too - nice and dark, yet mainstream sounding enough to appeal to a much wider audience. Production is just spot on for me, nice deep bass registers and good higher end clarity - nice one. Rated this one.

Hook is nice. Vocals are unique. In a weird way I like the quiriness of them.
-smoochknob from Portland, Oregon on 29Nov2006

Fat Intro and well produced song no doubt.
-Minus0 from Jacksonville, Florida on 18Nov2006

Very interesting track. I think you have a good sound. The chorus is very dreamy and reminds me of a Bjork move. I think you guys/gal have talent. The drums are definitely my fav part of this song and they have a definite industrial sound. The female vocals are nice. I like the lyrics. I have no idea what you are talking about but I think it has a mystery factor.
-Skywire from Raleigh, North Carolina on 16Nov2006

This pretty song starts off with a electronic beat then the vocalist comes in clearly singing about all the world’s problems. The answer . . . LOVE. The song then turns into a multi-vocal performance that sounds soothing and holds interest on many levels. The swirling harmonies and complex vocal lines are so beautiful they almost make the world’s problems seem solvable. The song is well mixed and well performed. The music keeps a steady beat and the multilayered harmonies weave in and out towards the end giving a nice finish to this pleasant piece. The lyrics are current, thoughtful, and stimulating while wrapped up in such a nice performance. This singer melodically sings the truth that Love is all we need. Very fluid and steady A pleasant mix and composition A very nice job And enjoyable piece

Lead vocals has a quality to it, lyricks are intersting. Liked the volcals in the main verse, cool effect. Bass and beats are good, effective for the songs personality. Production sounds pretty tight, sounds like pro job. In all, the song was pretty cool. its a good song.

the crisp, sudden drums and the overall production reminds me of some of the better new wave songs. Song structure is alright as well

This is a bit of a crossover type of song. Crossing over from Alternative to Electronica with a bit of soft pop rock thrown in. The sound is pretty original. The message of the song is a positive one. The vocalist is really good and has a great voice. The band is tight and the production of this work is good.

Squishy erie string like intro with a melodic plumpy bass. Extremely clear vocals/lyrics take over at :23 painting a picture of the artist's feeling. Nice call and answer at :45. Haunting melodies back the lead and meats up the vocals nicely.

Well this is different! Although the rapping style is a bit old fashioned by todays standards, the harmony chorus is absolutely superb. It is the original blending of different genres which really sets this apart.

-inervoice from Flint Michigan/Daytona Beach, Florida on 13Nov2006

It’s difficult to write an insightful, useful review for a song that’s so clearly about bringing the rock, and so efficient as reaching its stated goal. The production is right on, the beat is compelling, and the words are anthemic. It appears to this review that either listeners will get it or they won’t, and there’s precious little one could do to reach those that don’t get it. (Issuing the song with handcuffs, magic mushrooms and the ELO back catalogue for resistant listeners to strap themselves down and brainwash . . . sorry, psychologically prepare themselves for the music simply would work, more’s the pity.) The beat is wonderful.

hahaha brilliant! this is a bit pussycat dolls. Thats a complement i love them. Great lyrics, they're the raciest i've found on this site. Love the rap, thats a really current trend in popular music. I love the squeaky 'ohs' in the background. The squelchy beats are reminiscent of justin timberlake 'sexy back'. There's also a bit of that climbing tic-a-tica sound that's used in a missy elliot song and 'control myself' by j-lo and ll cool j. So its a very current sounding song and a catchy one too. This is very different to your other track. Anyway, impressive work, andrew

- keystonepro from Rochester, Minnesota on 24Feb2007

The intro grabbed me right away. Strong production. The hits are powerful and move through the speakers. The snare is excellent. I really need to talk about the vocals. Ok, girl has this style of singing/not singing rapping/not rapping. At first, I didnt' like it, but it grew on me real fast. Well, the production is on point, the mix is on point. The vocals are delivered with a great deal of uniqueness. Not my personal taste, but my head is nodding, so I gotta give credit where credit is due. I want to hear something more interesting from this band, but still 5. Can't deny the undeniable.

- Power2Move from Flushing, New York on 9Feb2007

Nice dance beat; fantastic production upfront; great background vocals;
definite Timbalin influence- Really slick production here. Nice work.
- smallsonicbomb from Naugatuck, Connecticut on 7Feb2007

The whole song is exciting cause of the beat. The shit sounds like b52s to start out. The shit is definitely Euro.
- ziplokdotcom from Hudson, New Hampshire on 24Jan2007

A ninety groove which makes it very organic and yet a little exotic. I very much enjoy the flourishes of the stringed instruments and the solid beat.
- jonplye from Los Angeles, California on 26Dec2006

The obvious power to this piece is definitely the voices and the catchy lyrics. I love the distinction between the male and female parts and they are placed nicely. Seriously, this song makes me smile from ear to ear. "come on baby do me"??? ha! Cool piece, very catchy.
- darrickriggs from Salt Lake City, Utah on 18Dec2006

Sounds very good. I really do like this one. Fits perfect into the category. Great length as well.
- BUMBIS from Salinas, California on 8Dec2006

Big stabbing big band intro and a jolly uplifting rap/sung vocal. I can imagine black eyed peas making this song. it's funky and a little quirky. production is good.
- SoundCreation from Outer Space, Surrey, United Kingdom on 27Nov2006

"Very different. I like it. It's kinda funny. The female brings light to the song. the Mc does his job. He has a good voice. The lyrics are cool. The production carries the song well. Good mix. Good Work."
- philblount1 from New Haven, Connecticut on 26Nov2006

It's strange but not unenjoyable. The beats are good as is the melody.
- mrsands from United Kingdom on 20Nov2006

The opening bars remind me of the Black Eyed Peas. The mixture of male and female voices working really well together. This has been well produced and there is enough going on in the arrangement to make the track interesting. The chorus is catchy as well. Overall for this style of music who ever has put this together has done a great job!
- joannerees4 from Essex, United Kingdom on 16Nov2006

Contemporary r'n'b track. Its very danceable and there a lot of female sexy vocals. Very unusual music for me, cos i dont listen to this genre.
- magnu from Moscow, Russian Federation on 9Nov2006

Again like the other tracks this is very well produced. If this hasn't been recorded in a decent studio someone has a great set up at home to reach this quality.
- KungfuNK from Ombersley, England, United Kingdom on 9Nov2006

starts cool. Sudden !!! some cool sounds and vocals. dance? this is like dance rap or hip hop. cant make a big difference! ohh some naughty lyrics!! did she say too afraid to be gay? haha . Cool track.

The first thing this song reminds me of is a song from a play or animated dark comedy movie. I think it is very refreshing. Its so different. I think this song is kind of cool. Keep doin what u do!!!!!!!!!!!!
- JAMC from Akron, Ohio on 14Oct2006

The prduction is good. The vocals are clear and sit nicely on the mix, the other elements in the track don't clash and occupy their own sonic space. The rapping is great, I like the vocals.
- jonparadise from London, United Kingdom on 14Oct2006

Nice and groovy. Sexy vocals, Mood is excelent. Sounds very pro. This song has potential... Very well produced.
- lyubm from Portland, Oregon on 12Oct2006

hip pop/hop style song. it sounds typically for the p-diddy style productions like this. its good. both the male and female vocals are performed well and sound good. the synth stuff is pretty cool. the beat is strong which is cool. mix and production are very good. nice.

Had to stop by and drop a quick message on song, the guitars are so lush I literally wallowed in them lol, in fact the whole instrumentation on the track is gorgeous. Very, very cool vocal as well, deep full of body, really very well sung. Would be amiss not to mention the positive message of the track as well, which even someone non-religious like myself can appreciate. Very cool track in every way, rated :)

this jazzy tune gots some funk to it, this guitar is catchy to the ear, the production sounds good with guitars and vox.
- FinalEscapee from Albia, Iowa on 7Feb2007

A nice melody for a mellow and romantic tune. Sounds and production are treated skilfully and the overall arrangements of the song sound soothing and relaxing. The voice shows a nice and warm color. A well done job
- manuelbelli from Milano, Italy on 27Jan2007

Nice groove under the voice. This is actually a great song. Nice female voice. It's not your typical trance/dance voice. I can tell there is some vocal training in the timbre of your voice. Thanks!
- drkey88 from Chicago, Illinois on 22Jan2007

Sort of a Clear chicago style soft Jazz. Vocals up front, clear, concise, clean sounding. Nice even tone, Great harmony. Very melodious. Super background. Nice easy guitar, not off beat at all. Compliments vocals. Lyrics are good, Love the bongo back ground. Overall tone sets that relaxing mood that is welcomed. I find it almost ingenous when a band can put together such a beautiful arrangement like this.
- ROBTRODELLA from Salem, Massachusetts on 14Jan2007

A hot and winding voice. A rhythm of simple base, summer, spacious, cool. Good the arrangement that puts in first plain the voice. Excellent the contribution of the funky guitar very rhythmic and happy . Good the interlacement guitar and congas. I like the carpet of keyboards too, almost a flying carpet, that well unites the voice to the rhythmics. Good.
- COLORDRUM from Roma on 27Dec2006

This is a feel good song. It's a let the top down and ride with the wind blowing through your hair, song! Everything is hitting on this song!
- ede0612us from Palm Coast, Florida on 24Dec2006

This tune really brings the vocals out. The background was well done, some of the electric piano and guitar work especially. On it's own it would maybe be a bit repititious, but the way it's used here creates an excellent bed for these vocals to lay in. I'm not sure exactly what the words were saying, but they were sung with such conviction you almost had to agree with them even if you didn't know what they were about. I really enjoyed this singer a lot, reminded me of something I can't put my finger on. Maybe crusaders? I'm thinking possibly the theme from "Sharky's machine".
- Den121961 from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on 9Dec2006

In both music and lyrics it is very futuristic. Stuff like this was being tried in the 50's (and of course in the 60's). I like what I hear here the message is clear. It's a bit diffrent and I like it even
- arlen from Morro Bay, California on 9Dec2006

I like the melody...the vocals are pretty strong, overall she has a fantastic voice- certainly to me the highlight of the song. Nice percussion, and gotta love the guitar. nice work
- billybauer from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on 7Dec2006

Nice textural landscaping with the keyboards and I'm diggin the funky guitar work! This song makes me feel like I'm in a futuristic, sci-fi movie like Dune or Labrynth. The production on this track is really great, and I am enjoying the instrumentation also . . . especially the percussion. It really bounces.
- DaveMilne from Portland, Oregon on 5Dec2006

This track is full up of great textures provided by electric guitar and keyboard pads - set against and contrasted to grooving beat - with an excellent female vocalist leading the journey. The vocals have an airy-floating quality to both their sound and performance. That airiness along with the lyrical content gives this track a spiritual quality. I was hooked by the conga-shaker groove of this song from the top. And then hit by a wonderful female vocal sound - husky, soft, expressive - There is some fine production going on here and the track is mixed to perfection in a smooth-new-age-jazz type of way. All of the FX (Chorus, flange, delays, verbs) are tastefully placed to accentuate the song.
Great stuff!
- deank from Des Moines, Washington on 4Dec2006

this song really jumps out of my headphones. . the vocals on this like the song as a whole sounds like it was recorded well. the singer has a very nice voice but the strongest part to me is when the harmonies join in. really stands out.! very good and differnet than most vocal jazz which sometimes sounds the same to me. almost reminds me of 5th dimension on the vocal harmonies (i think that makes me pretty old)
- sojs from Levittown, Pennsylvania on 3Dec2006

The overall sound of this tune reminds me of Sade. Excellent vocals and the rhythm patterns work well together. Good lyrics.

Comment by DaveRave on 29 July 2007
Bloody hell, one of your best in my opinion. Clear as a bell, crisp, top-class vocals and hooks you to the end. Loving this.

Comment by steve eyre on 26 July 2007
What a bizzare song! which is why i like it..its quite eccentric actually. Some clever little vocal hooks and the guitar shredding took me by suprise. Lots of twists but not too many turns. This reminds me a great deal of fleetwood mac "tango in the night" album..in particular the "family man" song..tis a good un Ro!!

Nice song Ro, has a nice driving rhythm. Lovely vocals, and as Dean said theres some quality lyrics there. Really nice track, enjoyed that a lot. ONAGER

Comment by deantaylor on 24 July 2007
Ro, I really like this one. Actually, I don't like it as much as PAY DAY BLUES or UNTIL THE BLISS, but hey I am comparing you with you and that is not fair. lol Not every song can be as good as another in everyone's eyes. But this lyric is the bomb. I love it. Some fantastic lines, like: Prepare the hair for overdrive. My destination? No I won’t tell. To introspect is infinite wealth. Surfing stone The weakness, in my opinion, is that the chorus melody/music is not lifted enough from the verse. Actually the end of the chorus (I choose now, I choose now, I choose now) is nicely lifted. If you got that part in there a little more, well .... And this is just a minor critique. There is nothing wrong with what you have here. It is very good. Just that if you were looking to improve it that's where I'd look. Dean

Comment by realshanti on 24 July 2007
Neat song Ro! deffo enjoyed that - and the bit of guitar shred was sweet - also like that synth towards the end as well- well done- thumbs up:)
