I’d say both.

When “The Secret” came out in the mid 2000s there was a hypnotic appeal that developed an almost cult like following. “Great” I thought. “Humanity is finally going to awaken to our true power and create a world that works for everyone”.

Marketing was perfect for maximizing attention/profit – specifically because consumer mentality is all about immediate gratification. If it’s hard, most consumers roll their eyes and walk away. No one wants to hear the dirty details or to be bothered with the whole truth.

People spent tons of money learning to use this tool - promoted to magically create wealth with the power of thought while glossing over the concept of detachment and maintaining the feeling of success before evidence appears. Excitement quelled and criticism erupted about the Law of Attraction being garbage.

Our world faces some serious challenges these days, shaking fundamental beliefs with blatant corruption enslaving thought patterns of the masses. Did “The Secret” get so much attention from centrally owned corporate entertainment because it focused on material wealth from an egotistic (fear based) perspective?

Issues like financial crisis, health emergencies and terrorism strike at base survival fears. Work demands, social expectations and a 24 hour news cycle keep us distracted from internal work necessary to manage stress. We get desperate and grab personal empowerment tools like weapons to defend ourselves from evils of the world.

It doesn’t work that way.

My experience indicates that the Law of Attraction only works when we come from the heart space of abundance. In order to manifest anything, we have to feel like it is already present in our experience. We have to KNOW we are manifesting because it is the act of knowing that activates the creative force of the universe.

Other keys to engagement are suspension of expectation and judgment. Coming from the space of “I need it to happen by (such and such a date)” is an expectation that might not be what is in your highest and best good. Having a check list of what your manifestation looks like sets you up for judging your goal dressed in a different package as “wrong”, sabotaging receipt of blessings.

Visualization in all its forms is just a tool to get us in the heart space of being there now so we can begin seeing, touching, hearing, smelling and tasting success. Getting locked into the form manifestations will take obscures the ability to recognize and accept universal gifts being presented.

Besides, the entire goal setting process limits our creation to current knowledge and imagination. It’s good to have a place to start, but leave room for something better. Use the creative tools then get out of your own way by releasing control of timing and results. Trusting the flow of life and having faith in your own creative ability solidifies the manifestation process.

Someday, we’ll have proof for what we now see as the magic of intentional manifestation. In the mean time, I’m engaging biological technology not yet explained by science.

Millions of people face an uncertain future. We’re taught to go to school, develop skills, work hard, be loyal and treat others as we want to be treated. That all looks good on paper but unexpected events and circumstances pop up seemingly out of no where, and life gets out of control.

How many of you are unemployed, sick, depressed, stressed out about your job or otherwise feel like life is spinning out of control? No matter what you do, promised results allude so you read, go back to school, follow your passion and get in touch with your inner calling – just to get slapped back into the reality of bills, competition and ridicule.

I’ve come to the conclusion we can’t use external behavior to control destiny. Being who you are and doing what you love is great action but without the inner sense of faith, nothing works. Sometimes people put on a positive mental attitude persona and jump off a mountain with no parachute, crashing and burning in the valley below. That happens when you substitute faith with hope.

Many people were hypnotized to “hope” for a better future in the 2008 US presidential election. “Yes We Can!” but didn’t. Give whatever excuse you want for a recovery on Wall Street, immunity for financial criminals that imploded the global economy and the wealth gap widening, sucking the middle class into an endless nightmare. Hoping for a better future puts you and me in a dependent position – victim consciousness all day long.

A couple of years ago I had an epiphany about hope. Hope comes from a sense of lack – not having whatever you desire. “I hope I get this job”, “I hope I win the lottery”, “I hope I lose some weight”, “I hope that deal closes” … That’s not what you want. It’s just that we’ve been programmed to believe joy and abundance come from all these external circumstances.

Before I met my husband, I was lonely. For many years, I hoped to meet my ideal life mate. Yeah, I didn’t want just a “husband”. I wanted the ideal relationship for me. Finally, after I came to an emotional place of being in joy single, boom – he showed up, hidden in a package I didn’t recognize and more perfect than I could have imagined.

As soon as I gave up hope for an external condition to bring me joy, I was in joy and the external condition manifested without effort.

Hope is the flip side of the fear coin, taking away personal power. We ride the roller coaster of emotion with every news article, congressional action or corporate activity instead of finding that inner power to access a feeling of joy and abundance regardless of what’s going on in apparent reality.

The only way to control destiny is to control your thoughts and feelings NOW. No, you can’t always get everything that you think you want, but engaging faith you attract something so much better.
We’re taught to be part of the ‘real world’, we must choose a side. But there is a growing movement where people consciously create a better world through cooperation, sharing and building on similarities.

The mission of Gen-Ray Records is to affect the intentional selection of entertainment as a tool for personal growth and global transformation. The prize was a trip for two to New York and a meeting with a celebrity management team. Pam is a successful artist development professional with a long list of credits. I was honored to perform live for these remarkable women and greatly appreciate their advice and direction. Economic collapse hit our city and suburbs years before the rest of the country and world felt a middle class eroding. Labor moved to non-union shops in far-away places beginning in the 1980s. Since then, we’ve experienced a slow drip of people and investment, wage stagnation and decline as well as property values plummeting, starting in 2006. Before the global economic crisis hit the news, Michigan experienced 14% unemployment rates as residents clamored to leave the state for a job. The official unemployment rate is now at 11.2% and ranking 49 out of 51 states and the District of Columbia. Auto makers now hire union employees at $14 an hour rather than $28 and employers often pay commission only or hire entry-level people. The pool of candidates declined for job offered citing “overqualified” as the reason swells. We’ve been in national news for corruption in government and take-over of public offices by unelected appointments who are not accountable to the public. One in every 417 households is in foreclosure, ranked 7th highest in the country.

So you’d think we are a city of doom and gloom – but you would be wrong. Perhaps because of the dismal state of employment, many people are finding their passion and investing in creating their own career. Many intelligent, educated and experience people are reevaluating their lives and following their dream. We are a Phoenix Rising, reclaiming the innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial endeavors that put us on the map of world attention. We are changing our line of thinking and taking action to achieve our goals.

Yesterday I was on a live radio interview with Darian Counts at the University of Detroit’s radio station, UDetroit. We met at UDetroit Cafe, a Media Cafe in the heart of Downtown Detroit's Entertainment District where he discusses politics, religion, all the sex you want to talk about and local talent. Show producer John LeBang is multi-talented, also producing an uplifting rock opera called “Soul Struck Lightning” that he wrote, directs and plays lead role. It is true that we have been hit a major blow to our once-thriving economy here in Metro-Detroit, but we haven’t lost our spirit. Like the vacant lots we turn into organic farms, Metro-Detroit residents are turning economic collapse into a new way to prosperity. Elected officials are in bed (sometimes literally) with corporate rulers of the planet and their agents. Perhaps out of fear or helplessness, they fail to fulfill their function as representatives of a self governing people. The masses are divided among fabricated differences to tear each other apart over intentionally created problems, running to more government control for solutions. This is called fascism.

We are at the verge of a monumental time in human history. It takes everyone working together to become empowered and right the wrongs committed against us. That can only happen when we come together from the fabricated labels that divide us for conquer. Republicans, Democrats, executives, workers, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Pagans and non-believers alike are part of the solution as soon as we come together.

In addition to the past decade of wage stagnation, prices of goods and services necessary to sustain life have continued rising. Although the inflation rate is under 2%, consumers’ ability to purchase has decreased over time specifically because of what is now called “quantative easing”. That’s where the Federal Reserve prints money and lends it to banks for them to decide whether or not to lend it to business and individuals. This injection of money into the system is intended to stimulate the economy to return to prosperity. When the money is used for long term investment, reinvigorating enthusiasm and hope, this process can indeed be like a shot of adrenalin to a shock victim.

The reason we can print unlimited supply of dollars is because we no longer use gold or other uniform standard by which to establish value. It’s like pledging a drawing of your home as collateral for the loan. The drawing, while looking good on paper, is worth what the holder thinks its worth. If you happen to be a famous artist, you can command big bucks for throwing paint on a canvass. But if you are like most of us, no matter how talented you are, after two weeks on the fridge, the drawing of your house is fit for the recycle bin. This is called the fiat money system.

While we may not always see inner visions with physical eyes, we remind ourselves
The future is what we make and allow to be. No matter what the challenge, remembering the people and things we love sparks the powerful healing effect of gratitude. Everything we feel, think, say and do makes a difference, even when we don’t notice.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33972010-05-20T21:02:59-04:002010-05-20T21:02:59-04:00The Future of MusicWhen I was young, a talented and persistent independent artist could scratch out a living by singing in smoky night clubs every night, hoping to "be discovered" by the big labels or Broadway producers someday. Most other singers and song writers fulfilled their passion in a church choir, Community Theater or at family events. Only those independent musicians with large financial resources could dream of making professional recordings of their songs.

Signing with a major label was the ultimate measure of success. Only the most creative, thought provoking and entertaining musicians made it to national and international audiences. This attainment came with grueling schedules, demanding creative expectations, limiting musical formats, lavish corporate expenses and small artist percentages; often leading to identity crisis and self-destructive excess.

Vinyl records were difficult to copy for quality sound, and they cost a fortune to produce. Eight track recording devices were also expensive and difficult to use. Cassette recordings failed to capture musical depth and therefore, unmarketable. Then, somewhere between the time I graduated from business school and peaked my head up for air in the late 1990s, there was a quantum leap in audio recording technology.

Suddenly, the independent artist scene emerged and expanded, producing quality sound recordings within the financial grasp of middle class musicians. Elite interests began to secure control of the air waves through consolidation. As more independent artists produced and recorded original quality music, the radio stations became more consolidated, playing in strict formats. Local musicians with a significant following were allocated to small, unpopular time slots to increase ratings.

In 2010, computer technology and rapid internet connections provide access to recording and production software at low cost, with free software available through pirating and for promotional purposes. Samples can be downloaded, instruments synthesized and voices tuned at little or no cost. Suddenly, anyone with some technological savvy can express themselves and compose record and produce quality sound.

Conventional wisdom might suggest this explosion of music would provide the public expanded listening choices. To some extent this is true. But the flipside of these 45s and LPs ("vinyl single records" and "long play" for the under 30 crowd) is the problem getting exposure. There are limitless Indie Artist websites promising promotion, CD and MP3 download sales portals and radio play. Many of these are controlled by unknown subsidiaries of major labels. There are innumerable on-line radio shows and promoters soliciting services to Indie Artists and affordable costs, accepting anyone and promising no results. For the average music listener, this creates an overload of information. Independent artists of today face the same basic challenge as they did decades ago: mass distribution.

In today’s society, music is no longer seen as relevant. Artists are considered the product, with ever-increasingly sensational hair cuts, cosmetics and clothes, exotic sexual escapades and lush life-styles that subtly promise unsuspecting listeners glamour and wealth while actually promoting fashion, public sentiment, extreme life styles and intellectual diversion.

The public has been gently programmed over the past decades that music should be free. What started out as a lure or a crime has become the norm. YouTube video producers and BlogTalk Radio hosts want music because they intuitively know it helps retain attention but often resent copyright enforcement demanding royalties to song writers. Consumers have a plethora of listening devices; full of free downloads of music by signed artists. Why should they pay 99 cents to listen to a “nobody”?

Corporations and special interests intentionally use jingles in advertising, spending however many millions/billions ... because it increases sales. Commercial musicians, unable to feed themselves otherwise, gratefully accept royalty-free salaries to produce music and songs for television and radio commercials. Music is played to increase viewer emotion and involvement on televisions and shows, in-stores to increase spontaneous purchases and as theme songs to cement the emotional impact of movies. Being entertained puts the conscious mind on pause so the desired message can sneak in, undetected.

Massive distribution in the entertainment industry is closed to all but elite interests, making licensing opportunities available only to those song-writers affiliated with major players. Imagine a world where ALL music was sponsored by corporate interests; commercials of sorts, secretly hypnotizing the masses to conform to mindless consumerism and the governmental agenda, through the power of music.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33962010-05-09T08:55:00-04:002010-05-09T08:55:00-04:00A Mother’s Day Message, May 9, 2010
A mother's love is the closest humans
During this transformation, some people recoil in fear as others run ahead of the crowd in long awaited anticipation. I am amongst the latter.

This is a consciousness evolution, referenced by most religions and ancient mythology. During this transition, many people following their hearts, doing work for which they are passionate, struggle through the journey as they learn to balance a spiritual calling with the economic reality. Along the way, some people become extraordinary, doing things that make miracles come true. Reverend David is one of those people.

David’s story could be the subject of a book. Aside from holding a full-time job as a Federal Aviation Inspector, David is a Doctor of Naturopathy, co-founded & operates Aviante Health and Wellness Center® http://www.aviantehwc.com/ (including the use of Harmonic frequencies - that which gives music power), brings together spiritually minded people to hold meditations for the purpose of assisting in the creation of one global consciousness on the Virtual Sacred Circle Project http://vscproject.ning.com/, and has a BlogTalk radio station http://www.blogtalkradio.com/vscproject. He is an ordained Reverend of The Universal Life Church (or ULC), a religious organization, believing merely in doing "that which is right." If that isn’t enough to occupy his days, he actively supports humanitarian relief efforts and works with the Hopi Indians to share their New Hopi Prayer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3SEEsjWvAM.

I am impressed with David because:

1. He has employment that he enjoys, provides for his financial needs AND the time to follow his many passions.
2. Works in Alternative Healing Techniques
3. Pursues his passions
4. He is actively engaged in co-creating a better world, bringing people of the world together.
5. I like his energy.

‘tude vox Ro: David, please summarize your spiritual beliefs and how they affect your daily actions.

David: To me, summarizing my spiritual beliefs is similar to placing the Sun in a FedEx box… very difficult. Being spiritual is not an action but a state of being. The nature of a lion is all that makes up a lion. The same is true for me, and for all living beings in this Universe regarding spirituality. We are all one in Spirit. Everything we do in life makes up portions of our spirituality. This connection to Spirit is what gives us our inspiration for the many creative accomplishments in this world. Some may praise the accomplishments that Man has attained throughout history but it pales in comparison to what our potential is when we fully awaken to our true nature.

Knowing that we are all connected to Spirit, and that my actions will affect others both in the short and long term, I attempt to remain in the present moment as much as possible so I can be open to Spirit’s call when I’m needed. I may be called upon to helps those in a charity event, a food drive, investigate an aircraft accident, help a friend organize a workshop, or just be present for someone who has just lost a loved one. What I feel I know everyone will feel eventually. The reverse is also true. This is why the statement, “Do unto others what you want done unto you” is so very important to me. This also alludes to the law of Karma in that what ever action is taken, negative or positive, will incur some kind of reaction to bring the result of that action back into balance. This may occur immediately or it may take several lifetimes but Karma will be balanced.

‘tude vox Ro: With all of the good causes in the world, how do you decide which ones to support and promote?

David: Intuition leads me to decide which organizations to support and/or support. I’m able to feel if an organization is in service to self, even though they may be promoting service to others, and if an organization is in service to others. The focus these different organizations tend to have is either money (service to self) or Mother Earth, which includes humanity (service to others). When an organization focuses more on money then the energy will not be present to support them. But when the focus is on Mother Earth the resources, to include money, to support the organization begins to flow.

‘tude vox Ro: What drives you to move beyond personal needs and desires to dedicate your time to humanitarian and spiritual efforts?

David: Whatever I’m doing at that time feels like something I’m supposed to do. If I don’t follow my intuition and accomplish my goals then I experience a sense of emptiness to the point of physical pain. Going against the will of life and my intuition causes much distress for me. The call to help bring people together as one and assist in ushering in a new global consciousness is very strong and I can no longer deny it.

Also, we are the ones who have the potential to cause a shift in reality to a more harmonious state just by our focused intentions. Quantum physics, in theory, has stated this. Because of this gift we’ve been given, Humanity has the responsibility to assist and protect Mother Earth and all those who live upon her because we are the ones who have the power to co-create with Her and bring about a harmonious reality.

‘tude vox Ro: What do you do for your clients at Aviante Health and Wellness Center®?

David: I, as well as co-founder and life love (Susan), and the staff of Aviante Health and Wellness Center® (AHWC), are dedicated to integrating various health and healing modalities to create a multi-dimensional approach to healing. By directly affecting the three primary components of body, mind, and spirit at the same time, there is a much deeper relaxation response, a more dramatic and long-term healing response, and a much stronger sense of well-being for the client after a session. As we begin to experience the symptoms of evolutionary growth, i.e. unexplained aches, pains, increased anxiety, depression, hallucinations, anger for reasons unknown, war, violence, global crime on the rise, along with global changes occurring at a record pace, AHWC provides a place to not only get away, relax, and heal from the day to day chaos, but a sanctuary for those wanting to know how to heal themselves and others.

‘tude vox Ro: How does music affect healing?

David: On the surface, music heals by helping us focus on one thing only. This focus on one thing allows us to push everything else out, which relaxes our minds. When our minds relax the body will relax as well. But the vibrations music creates, or what is better known as harmonics, goes beyond just relaxing the mind and body. Through years of observation, meditation, and the application of insight received through meditation and as a Reiki Master, a naturopath, a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, and as a martial artist learning to manipulate energy (Chi or qi), I’ve come to realize that harmonics, which is another form of energy, affects the biology of our bodies. When we come into this world our bodies resonate a frequency, which is made up of the combined frequencies of all the bodies systems, that is optimal for our health. Through the act of living and experiencing many levels of stress (disharmonic frequencies), the frequency of the body begins to become chaotic. This can be likened to storm causing a calm sea to become a chaotic monster. If this stress is not addressed in a timely manner the body begins to breakdown, which ultimately leads to dis-ease. The harmonics of music assists the body to realign itself to its original harmonic state so the body’s biology can begin the healing process. But not all music is conducive to healing. Mr. Masaru Emoto, author of “The Hidden Messages in Water,” has done much research on sound (harmonics), intention, and how they affect the body. Soft melodic sounds tend to assist the body in placing it in a healing state. Hard rock music with hateful and angry language, tends to place the body in a chaotic state.

‘tude vox Ro: What does science have to say about the power of harmonics?

David: Energy medicine, which harmonics is part of, is a sophisticated and intelligent way of viewing health and correcting stress and multiple health disturbances with new modalities based on quantum physics.

According to energy medicine, the body’s health depends on information fields on the energetic or quantum field level. These information fields are an active, creative force, intimately involved in the form and manifestation of one’s state of health. When we examine the body’s health through the viewpoint of the energetic body, we are able to assess the correct informational fields which produce good health. And we can also detect disturbed informational fields, through the use of intuition and new technologies, which produces disease or health imbalances.

In the field of energy medicine, any disease can be redefined as a disruption or distortion arising in the informational energy field. In simple terms, a health problem is a glitch in the programming of one’s informational field. Healing can be accomplished by correcting these disturbances, which can then eliminate the disharmony and the chaotic patterning of the health problem, and restore natural health. Energy medicine, by correcting the information fields of the body, enables the body to heal itself, naturally. Harmonics are used as one method to correct any disrupted informational fields.

‘tude vox Ro: What is the Virtual Circle Project all about?

David: Through the advent of technology, it’s now possible to bring together all people as one virtually, thus expanding our consciousness even more quickly. When people of all walks of life come together as one for a common purpose, miracles will occur. Staying in the moment, and holding that moment (sacred space), assists in these miracles by creating a space that allows people’s healing and positive intentions to be held in a “universal spiritual bank” to be deposited into other people’s “spiritual banks” when the time arises. Ultimately, creating this “sacred space” allows for these healing and positive intentions to flow into and outward to everyone, which will then assist in creating a shift in the current reality to another reality that is more spiritually heart-centered. Quantum theory supports this mindset.

People all over are experiencing increased anxiety, depression, hallucinations, and anger for reasons unknown. Anti-depressant prescriptions are at an all-time high. War, violence, and crime are on the rise globally. Global changes are also occurring at a record pace. This experience that everyone is going through, including Mother Earth, is what I have named the “quickening.”

The “quickening” is the expansion of consciousnesses by all within this universe. Many prophecies and oracles from around the world seem to point to December 21, 2012 as the final day of this “quickening.” The Mayan Calendar, the Book of Revelation, Nostradamus (The Prophecies of M. Michel Nostradamus), Edgar Cayce (The Sleeping Prophet), the Hopi Indians (Hopi Prophecies), and the Chinese oracle of the I Ching, all point to this date.

Symptoms of the “quickening range from unexplained tiredness, aches and pains, unexplained nausea, vertigo, and emotional conflicts with others and with self.

To bring about this “quickening” transition smoothly and to send out healing and positive intentions to the world, I created The Quickening Chronicles: The Virtual Sacred Circle (VSC) Project. The VSC Project is made up of spiritually like-minded people with a common goal, to bring about the quickening in the most compassionate, loving, and pain-free way possible and to assist in the shift to a more spiritually and heart-centered reality, which will lead to the creation of a unified global consciousness. The VSC Project also assists the “quickening” by serving as a sounding board for all of us to share experiences, fears, knowledge, wisdom, etc., so we all can learn and grow at all levels of body, mind, and spirit. It serves as a place where we all can discuss current events that need healing attention so we then send heart-centered healing to those areas.

‘tude vox Ro: What is your connection with the Hopi Tribe and The Gathering of Souls?

David: I’ve always been drawn to the Hopi Nation and its people. Spiritually, there’s a connection with them and I feel drawn to continually connect with them. Through my spiritual brother, and Yavapai Indian Shaman friend (George Sanchez) in Sedona, Arizona, we both have connected with the Hopi. Through conversations with the Hopi, and other Native American tribes, there is talk of a gathering of sorts… a gathering of those responsible for the health of Mother Earth. This gathering appears to be focused on what should be said, and how to say it, to the world so the people living among Her can awaken and realize the damage Mother Earth has incurred. This “wake up call” is meant to also create action among us so we can assist Mother Earth in her spiritual evolution. She can’t do it alone and we can’t do it alone either. It will take all of us to come together as one unified global consciousness to make the transition. This is when I was given a vision, and the name, of an event to bring people together for the sole purpose to assist Mother Earth, and ourselves, to move into our next evolutionary step… “The Gathering of Souls.”

The purpose of this event is to bring people together and, with the assistance of the Hopi and other native children of the Earth, bring about our next evolutionary step through sheer intent. Our focus determines our reality. So by focusing our intent on a heart-centered and compassionate reality then the shift will occur. Again, quantum physics, in theory, has stated this. By sharing knowledge, wisdom, experiences, and love with and for Mother Earth, and for ourselves, we can assist the shift and bring about our spiritual destiny. We have the power to co-create so let’s co-create in alignment with Mother Earth and the Universe and move toward our highest potential.

'tude vox Ro: How do people get involved?

David: At this moment we are just at the infantile stage of planning. Members of the VSC Project, as well as friends in the alternative heath and wellness field, Indian tribe elders, and others awakened to the call to this event, are assisting in gathering the tools needed to put on this event. We would like this event be held globally but we also want the event to be broadcasted from Sedona, Arizona. Specifically on Cathedral Rock, which holds much feminine and masculine energy in its energetic vortex.

Anyone with experience in creating, managing, promoting, and any task involved with holding such a great and wonderful event can help. We would like, if possible, to have those involved to volunteer their time and effort because we want this event to be focused on the intent of serving humanity and Mother Earth and not focus on the money. If anyone has heard the “call” as I and many others have please contact me or Jen Barnett. I can be reached by email at archangel.david.uriel@gmail.com and/or go to the VSC Project fan page on Facebook, become a fan, and leave a message with your contact information. The link for the VSC Project fan page on Facebook is located on my profile (David-Uriel Ibarra) under the "info" tab at the bottom of the page. Jen Barnett can be reached on Facebook at her profile page (Jen Barnett) or at the VSC Project fan page on Facebook.

‘tude vox Ro: Is there anything else you’d like my readers to know?

David: I’ll finish with one of my articles that was published on Selfgrowth.com called “The Weight of Pain.” (http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/the_weight_of_pain.html)

This article describes how pain in all its forms can affect our state of mind, which leads to many physical conditions. This article also speaks to tools, which we use at AHWC, a person can use to help alleviate the pain if the person chooses to use them. Our focus determines our reality so let’s focus on the positive aspect of life because we’ve been given the gift of choice and the power to co-create with Mother Earth. Let’s choose wisely.

The Weight of Pain
by David-Uriel Ibarra, N.D.

Many people living in our world suffer in solitude due to pain they can not alleviate. This pain can manifest in many forms. Physical pain is the most talked about in the Western medical world as well as the alternative health world and appears to be more socially acceptable. The more socially unaccepted forms of pain are emotional and psychological. The reason physical pain is more accepted then emotional and psychological pain is that physical pain is seen as something that’s out of our scope of control. This means that according to our Western medical philosophy, we have no choice in our physical pain experience. We experience physical pain due to genetics, age, injuries, etc. Psychological and emotional pain, in some circumstances, is seen by the Western world to be out of our control of experience as well due to genetics, injuries, etc.

Western medicine usually addresses psychological and emotional pain through the use of medications. Alternative health modalities address emotional, and in some circumstances psychological, pain through the practice of various forms of relaxation techniques like meditation, exercise, yoga, reflexology, massage, etc., as well as the use of organic herbs and homeopathy. But there are times when both Western medicine and alternative health worlds are not enough. What then?

You may experience temporary relief from using either philosophies or both but the pain eventually returns. This pain then begins to build with no end in sight. You begin to slow down and become less interested in being active. You also begin to remove yourself from the social world because it’s just too painful to put on a “happy face” just so others don’t see what your going through. Eventually, the weight of your physical, emotional, or psychological pain begins to manifest into physical weight. Then, after many fad diets, long days of exercising, and counting calories, you realize that the weight is not only staying but it’s increasing. What now?

Your Focus Determines Your Reality

In a nutshell, quantum theory states that your focus determines your reality. This means that if you focus on all the things that cause you pain, i.e., negative thoughts, anger, control of others, etc., then more pain will come to you. This will then cause a build up of emotional pain within the physical body if not released properly and in a timely manner. If the emotional pain continues the body, in an effort to protect itself, will create a “suit of armor” so it will not feel threatened and experience pain. This “suit of armor” is the physical weight the body creates to protect itself. As the physical weight increases so do the physical stresses, which translates to psychological and, eventually, physical pain. Ultimately, if these stresses continue it will result in the complete breakdown of the physical body.

A New Way at Looking at Life

What is needed here is a new way at looking at situations that don’t bring on the negative aspects of emotion. This involves a conscious choice to see things differently despite what appears to be occurring to you. By choosing to see the positive side of your life experience then you’ll begin to invite more situations to support your positive outlook. Again, your focus determines your reality. Eventually, enough positive outcomes occur that the emotional pain dissipates, which then causes the reduction of the psychological pain. With both emotional and psychological pain reduced or removed, the body doesn’t feel threatened as much so it has no use for its armor. The armor then begins to be removed, which translates to physical weight loss and a reduction of physical pain. At this point, the use of traditional and alternative health practices is now extremely effective and should be used only after first consulting your medical physician. If you find it difficult to see the positive aspect of life then hypnotherapy should be explored.

Reframing the Mind

The term "hypnosis" is derived from the Greek word hypnos, meaning "sleep." Hypnotherapists typically use exercises that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, also known as a trance. Many people routinely experience a trance-like state while they are watching television or sitting at a red light. A person in a trance or deeply focused state is unusually responsive to an idea or image, but this does not mean that a hypnotherapist can control your mind and free will. On the contrary, hypnosis can actually teach you how to master your own states of awareness, which can affect your own bodily functions and psychological responses.

When something new happens to us, we remember it and learn a particular behavior in response to that circumstance. Memories stored in our brains hold the original physical and emotional reactions that occurred when the given memory was first formed. Each time similar events occur again, the physical and emotional reactions attached to the memory are repeated. These reactions may be inappropriate or unhealthy.

In some forms of hypnotherapy, the trained hypnotherapist guides you to remember the event that led to the first reaction, separate the memory from the learned behavior, and reconstruct the event with new, healthier associations.

During hypnosis, a person's body relaxes while their thoughts become more focused and attentive. In this relaxed state, a person will feel very at ease physically yet fully awake mentally. In this state of deep concentration a person is highly responsive to suggestion. If you are trying to quit smoking, for example, a hypnotherapist's suggestion may successfully convince you that in the future you will have a strong dislike for the taste of cigarettes.

Besides emotional pain, stress, and weight issues, here’s a list of conditions that respond well to hypnotherapy:

• Inflammatory bowel diseases (namely, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis)
• Sleep disorders, including insomnia
• Addictions
• Warts
• Bedwetting
• Fibromyalgia
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Phobias
• Labor and delivery
• Skin disorders [such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema (atopic dermatitis)]
• Migraine headaches
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Cancer-related pain
• Eating disorders, namely anorexia and bulimia
• Indigestion (dyspepsia)

It’s Your Choice…!

The decision to reframe how you look at life has to be yours and no one else’s. Without your conscious commitment to let go of what you judge to be correct, and look at the positive things in life, any of the alternatives in relieving pain presented today will be doomed to fail. The choice is yours. Use your miraculous gift of choice and free will wisely.

'tude vox Ro: Thank you David, for you time on this interview and especially your work.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33902010-02-02T05:57:49-05:002015-12-24T19:22:16-05:00Right-Action in Action: Adrian Lunsford, Teamball InvestmentThis blog series is about ordinary people doing extraordinary things by following their dreams, then making them come true. Today’s article is about Adrian Lunsford, an ordinary man with a job, family and a dream in his heart to make a difference in a way only he can.

Q: 'tude vox Ro: Adrian, thank you for your work and being a guest on my Right-Action in Action blog interview series. Please tell us a about your self, career and family, before you started Teamball Investment.

A: Adrian Lunsford born 11-28-1970 in Panama. I have younger brother who lives in Iowa. I grew up in Lawton, OK where I attended Lawton High School and Played football for the 1987 State Champion Lawton High Wolverines. I graduated from High School in 1988. I earned an athletic scholarship for football to attend Iowa Wesleyan College. During my time at Iowa Wesleyan College I earned my Bachelor Degree in Business while raising a family and working 3 jobs. I was offered a chance to play Professional Football in the Arena Football League and earn my Master Degree at the same time so I took advantage of the opportunity and achieved both. The opportunity became so great that I ended up playing 11 years in AFL during that time I roomed and played with the most famous Arena star Kurt Warner. I played for the Milwaukee Mustangs, Iowa Barnstormers, Minnesota Fighting Pike, New Jersey Red Dogs, Carolina Cobras, Nashville Kats, Dallas Desperados, Colorado Crush, and Detroit Fury.

Q: What inspired you to create www.Teamball.net?

A: The inspiration for TEAMBALL INVESTMENTS LLC. began when I was playing in the Arena Football League and we would have speaking engagements at local schools. I realized that I liked being around athletes not just football players so I came up with the concept TEAMBALL INVESTMENTS. TEAMBALL INVESTMENTS is an acronym for Together Each Athlete Must BALL. The Investments part of the company is the time that the athletes must invest to be a team. Someone is saying well what about individual sports there is no team, well I beg to differ. Each person has a small team of 3 called Me, Myself, and I. If you can not get these three athletes on the same page you will not have a TEAMBALL INVESTMENT.

Q: Why do you think music is important in your conditioning program?

A: I think music is important in BDOC! our conditioning program which is an acronym for Bow Down or Compete!

1. Music soothes the soul.
2. Everyone listens to some type of music.
3. Music trains the athlete how to concentrate while there is background noise.
4. Music trains the athlete how to tune out unwanted noise (Game day crowds).
5. Music trains the athlete how to get into a rhythm (The ZONE).
6. Music breakups the monotony of just conditioning (wind sprints).
7. Music can be heard by over 4 Million athletes on their iPod/Mp3 players.
8. Music allows the athlete to hear the song in their head which will allow them to train both mentally and physically without a coach being present.

Q: How is your life different, now that you are running your business?

A: My life has not changed since I now run my own business. The reason I say this is because when I worked for someone I always treated my job like it was my own little personal business. Treating their business like it was mine is what made me know that I could give the same effort, dedication and time to run my very own business.

All of us, recruiters, job seekers, hiring managers, small businesses and people who still have jobs are part of the system. Every day people comprise the majority stake holders at any major corporation. The few major shareholders employ every day people to engage activities that affect other every day people.

The middle class has unknowingly been at war with existing power structures for as long as there has been a middle class. When industry needed labor, it encouraged people to become dependent on selling labor in return for food, shelter and medical care. For many years, the United States demonstrated the ideals of Capitalism, becoming an industrial and a technological leader.

Every-day people established labor unions to set fair labor standards. The middle class began to enjoy ‘free time’, buying toys and contraptions to occupy this discretionary time. Consumerism was born. Throughout the invasion of Japanese cars, the introduction of Pac Man, Disco, Heavy Metal and Hip-Hop Music, middle class Americans maintained an illusion of expansion. Credit was available to anyone that ‘could fog a mirror’. When overtime was cut, we financed this lifestyle on credit cards ...until the elite took a major withdrawal of middle class wealth from the financial markets in October of 2008 and credit dried up.

Although ‘Globalization’ has been confused with greedy redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the elite, the idea is to tap locally abundant natural resources and make them available for the good of the entire planet. For example, the mid-western American states can efficiently grow food. If the global system worked for the good of all, farmers would not be paid by the government to refrain from growing food. They would not destroy ‘excess crop’. What can be considered ‘excess crop’ when there are millions of starving people, some in shadow towns like Detroit?

Globalization was promoted as the wave of the future, as agents of the elite manipulated legislation to enabled giant corporations to reduce the American labor force. American plants closed to reopen in countries with abusive labor protection laws and minimal environmental protection. Corporations market themselves as saviors, raising the living standard and bringing hope to developing nations. At first glance, it looks like a good thing, to improve lives in impoverished countries. However, raising the standard of living in one country by lowering another, results in zero net benefit; or worse.

Especially because so many American people can not find living wages, now is the time to come together and demand Industry be held accountable for greed, deception and fraud, government execute the public agenda and to empower ourselves against the abuses causing this economic meltdown. Individual power is limited. The current social systems serve to divide and conquer every-day people into socially contrived ‘Us’ vs. ‘Them’ camps, limiting cooperation and therefore, perceived power to affect change. In other words, it is in the best interest of wealthy players to maintain status quo and the best way to do that is to convince everyone else that there is nothing they can do about it.

When every-day people experience injustice, 99.99% of the time, the injustice is perpetrated by another every day person working in fear, hoping to maintain a means to buy food, shelter and medicine. One person may be a collection agent and the other a laid off auto worker, but they are both one, in a sea of masses, playing adversarial roles within the fabricated social structure, designed to benefit the obscenely rich; 2% of the people who own 98% of all wealth. It is in the interest of Big-Business to manage a fear-based society, by withholding life-sustaining necessities and to foster a divisive social structure.

It is a scary time. It is important to acknowledge fears, strengthen personal and professional networks and change the way we think about employment. Employment is selling time in return for the privilege of life, also referred to as ‘Wage-Slavery’. Big-Business wants us to feel desperate, telling us we have no choice. Don’t believe it.

Every day people can negotiate, learn to value their own time and talents and refuse to participate in systemic corruption. That means recognizing that every business exploits human and natural resources to profit. Exploit means to earn more dollars from the resource than it costs. This is reasonable and in fact, necessary in any sort of Capitalistic or trade-based society. In order for it to work for the good of everyone, employees must earn enough money to live a balanced life.

Refusal to participate in systemic corruption applies to personal decisions about minimum standards for employment. Employees often think of the Corporation as the only player setting standards, failing to accept responsibility for their own choices. When every day people feel squeezed to accept unreasonable terms, they are in victim consciousness; desperation. To reclaim personal power, answer the question ‘Do you work to live or live to work? Unless people are passionate about work, they work to live. Life requires sufficient income and time off to enjoy life. Refrain from making employment decisions that do not provide for the means to enjoy life.

Refuse full time work that will not provide for a reasonable life style, demands 60+ hours a week with no additional compensation or requires 38 hours a week under ‘part time’ status (no benefits). Working full time for less than enough to survive increases stress levels by adding a lousy job to continued financial challenges. It also reduces time for job searches, family and pursuing passions that may provide for long term financial stability.

Part-time work can be better than no work. It might lead to full time or facilitate finding better work. However, specifically because employers do not pay benefits to part time employees, part-time employees have added costs - vacation pay, sick pay, health care... For example, if reasonable income for full-time work is 40k, an appropriate part-time income might be: 40k + 2 weeks paid time off, 10 sick days, $500 a month for health insurance, divided by 2 for a 20 hour/week job. Accepting work for less than is fair and reasonable fulfills Corporate Interests of reducing just about everyone’s standard of living.

Practically no one is paid to stop corruption and fraud. The only reasonably way to fight against corruption is to refuse to participate and take action to correct injustice. If that means earning less money than through unscrupulous and ruthless means, so be it. Every decision every person makes in every-day activities contributes to the problem or the solution.

If actions are taken out of fear, they contribute to the problem. If they are taken out of love, they contribute to the solution. Fear-based actions include standard ‘fight-or-flight’ responses as well as subtle actions; with well thought rationale, having roots in unconscious programming. Actions based in love include standard and subtle implications too. Although ‘love’ has many meanings, for the purpose of this discussion, it refers to unconditional love often associated with spirituality.

For example, many people pursue professions based on the model ‘find out what they are buying and sell it to them’. It is a perfectly rational model until the intentional manipulation of consumers is factored in and we realize people will buy what ever enough advertising, marketing, promotion and lobbying yield convinces them they need, and that it will change based on the agenda of businesses with the most money.

I propose and live by a different model that says ‘If you have a passion within your heart, there is someone that needs you to express it’. That means hobbies can become a primary source of income. Let the magnitude of that sink in. While it is not always a means to address an immediate need, there is always a way to make a living doing what we love. Love-based decisions move us toward what we want, whereas fear-based decisions move us away from what we don’t want. Because love expands and fear contracts, we become more than we were when acting out of love and less of our true selves in fear.

Rational factors, such as consumer demand, competitors, barriers to entry, expected return on investment and investment recuperation period are all important considerations. They are measurable, coming in all sorts of charts, graphs with any number of text-book theories. Unfortunately, information is often intentionally manipulated, like recent global-warming statistics, rendering it deceptive. At best, rational factors demonstrate historical results from measured indicators. Rationale can not verify proper weight given to intuition, predict synchronicity or rectify thousands of years mass-programming that work is not supposed to be fun. With the current speed of intellectual progress, history can not predict the magnitude of human potential for an unprecedented consciousness evolution of every day people.

Regardless of man’s ability to measure, every action we take matters, regardless of apparent results. These seemingly insignificant actions form a collective of other right-action and it makes a difference. One voice is drowned out by the loud clanks of a machine called status quo. But a chorus of voices persistently singing harmoniously to a new song can draw a crowd. When a crowd gets big enough, the fields of injustice are trampled, making room for a new crop. Society needs to plant new seeds.

Research concerns. Read about history not found in school books. Write letters to editors, news stations; comment on articles and in blogs. Join causes that match your beliefs. Refrain from subscribing to ‘group think’; also know as ‘herd mentality’. Network with like minds. Build vocational relationships. Sharpen critical thinking skills. Ask tough questions. Refuse to accept lame excuses and unnecessarily complicated explanations. If you don’t understand, know it is intentionally planned. Ask again. Confront abusers directly, with compassion. Stand up for your rights and follow your dreams, no matter how futile it feels.

Don’t entrust your fate to unemployment predictions or your livelihood on the whim of an employer. Use employment as a means to your ends and do something you enjoy as you develop your hobby into a career. Negotiate fair terms and give employers a little more than agreed. Think about the affect your actions have on other every day people at work, in social groups and in your personal decisions. Be loyal first to yourself, knowing with certainty fair employment provides for a balanced life.

Acknowledge fear and its derivatives doubt, anxiety and confusion without judgment. Fear in its most basic state is a natural signal that action is required. Don’t ignore or cover it up. Discover it. Personal introspection, development and acting on faith leads to empowered, right-action. But the road to survival in the 21st Century job market isn’t straight. In addition to the curves of a normal scenic route, expect U-turns due to construction.

In order to survive the 21st Century job market, every day people need to do extraordinary things. It begins with a personal inventory of skills and talents. Knowing ones self and personal passion is an on-going project. Anything within a person’s soul demanding expression is something others require. Packaging and marketing takes time, effort and defiant persistence.

Go back to school, follow your passion and stop trusting big business. Stop trusting government. Stop thinking you are informed because you watch the Corporate-owned news. Stop believing you can't do anything to improve your life. Take your unemployment as an opportunity to open your own business, go to school or become socially active.

This is a ‘make-or-break moment’ in human history. The ‘powers that be’ have been and want to continue to be in control. If the middle class hadn’t taken such a blow with the market crash, wage reductions and unemployment, after decades of wealth-reduction, the elite would have had a better chance to slowly bleed the masses to death without anyone noticing. So let’s make this time the proverbial ‘rope’ by which systemic greed and deception ‘hangs it’. Learn to recognize this period of uncertainty as a wake-up call, when every day people do extraordinary things, have confidence in yourself and fulfill your dreams.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33912010-01-02T06:15:01-05:002010-01-02T06:15:01-05:00Right-Action in Action: Jim Sutton, Social Media God-sendI have many years of sales and marketing experience, developing long-term professional relationships through face-to-face interaction. In my former life, I developed a reputation for excellence through word of mouth advertising. My business was local. My clients were neighbors & friends. Then came the internet, disseminating volumes of information globally.

So like many of us, confused and overwhelmed by the learning curve, I resisted using the internet. Then I started making music. Reluctantly, I joined the 21st Century in 2006, setting up web pages on selective Indie music sites to showcase my songs. I meandered into uncharted territory, establishing SassyAlternativeMusic.com. Woo-hoo! I did it. Now how do I get people over to the site?

Then I met Jim Sutton on LinkedIn in April, 2009. He is unique in his sincere willingness to provide direct support to the people and causes in which he believes. Fortunately for me, Jim takes action to co-create his life and the world around him, finding my brand of music to be consistent with his philosophy. Although I’m far from a social-media networking expert, Jim has taken me under his wing and guides me though the maze of technique and etiquette required for successful marketing.

‘tude vox Ro: Jim, in a world of rampant greed and self-interest, you are extraordinary. What motivates you to help others succeed?

Jim: I firmly believe in giving forward and it will come back: You Reap What you Sow. This idea pops up all over. See every religion for examples. Pat Weber had Bob Burg, co-author of The Go-Giver, as a speaker on Blitztime.com in November of this year. She posted a series ( http://prostrategies.com/wordpress/2009/11/go-giver-thanksgiving-with-gratitude/ ) of 5 blog posts summarizing the key points of the Go-Giver attitude. You can visit the Go-giver book site at http://www.thegogiver.com/ The Go-Giver is a great summary of the idea.

Throughout history (and currently) there has been a group of individuals focused on themselves (greedy) and another group who are other-focused (saints). Between these extremes live the rest of us. Why use anothers' self-centeredness as an excuse to not help others?

I think there are a lot of good people all around us. Just look. I watch TV and read news feeds and they highlight the one in 10,000 who does something evil and unethical in a big way and they go on and on and on and on about it. I move through my day and see the other 9,999 good people (not perfect, but not evil), so I don't watch much TV. I see people helping each other, sharing and caring. Now, they are not perfect and have bad days just like you and I, but 99% are good and do good work and good deeds.

Napoleon Hill, the first modern self-help writer and speaker, pointed out that the Golden Rule is the key to success. What I do is as simple as: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

A key to why I feel comfortable with this approach is that, like Einstein, I believe this is a kind universe and that people are generally good, although not perfect. I am not perfect, so why hold you and others to that standard.

When we look at others as if they are walking crime bombs, we cannot attract cooperation from them easily. If you see the good in them it attracts more good and enhances cooperation. Much of the key to this approach is to realize that we are not perfect, are a work-in-progress, and so are others. If you assume positive intent, cooperation is much more likely than assuming others are greedy and out to get you.

‘tude vox Ro: What drew your interest to social networking? How has it helped you?

Jim: Job Search. In 2006 I realized I needed to network. It was pretty apparent the power generation station I worked at was in danger of shutting down with layoffs to follow and I knew I needed to get ready. I set a networking goal, and it was pretty much a failure for a while... quite a while. I was on a 18 month assignment and as it slowed down last November I really started working on Linkedin.com and figured out how to use it. I discovered Blitztime.com. Then I moved to Twitter. Networking has opened up amazing opportunity and development opportunities for me. I have met so many people through my networking I don't know where to start. Writers, bloggers, my current partners, school mates, chess players, performance consultants, and the list goes on and on. Every current project, except college teaching, is a direct result of my networking and all within the the last 14 months.

‘tude vox Ro: What are your favorite networking sites and why? (Please include links where people can connect to you)

Jim: Blitztime.com is first because it features one-on-one conversations. In a 5 minute conversation you can learn so much more than simply reading a Linkedin profile. Blitztime.com is a subscription service and well worth it to meet other professionals.

Linkedin.com is next and my flagship networking area. LinkedIn's Questions and Answers are a great place to learn about anything you are interested in and meet others who are also. Groups are also a good place to gain information and connections and with 250,000 there is something for everyone.

Innovative, fast paced, informal: Twitter is the one I have the most fun with. I am eating my words on this one. I called Twitter stupid, impractical and pretty much useless. There is a big lesson here about being open minded and not judging too quickly. I did not have the proper tools to use Twitter effectively. Give me a big DUH on that one.

Facebook is currently not part of my professional networking. I send my tweets to Facebook and they spark comments from my family and friends and we stay in touch chatting back and forth.

‘tude vox Ro: How did you get into the positive mental attitude arena? What are the results to your life? (do you offer coaching services? If so, where do people go to find out more?)

Jim: I have been interested in personal development since my teens and the first exposure I remember was an Earl Nightingale record my parents had. A vinyl disk and needle setup: physical contact/ non-digital. You can find them in antique stores and museums now.

I purchased a Success Motivation Institute distributorship in the late 1980s and failed to make a profit and that was a great learning opportunity.

Results of my studies? More peaceful moments and fewer stressful moments.

‘tude vox Ro: Why did you start writing? What do you write about? (please self-promote)

Jim: I am currently writing about, Learning, virtual worlds and Web 2.0.

I wanted to write since I was a teen and I went in the Navy, started a family (and am still trying to finish it... no one tells you how to do that part) and got distracted. I went to school online one class at a time from 1996 until 2006 to complete my BA and a masters in Training and Performance Improvement. Now that I am finished with that project and job change is complete for now, I am researching and writing about, learning, the digital age and virtual worlds.

My hope is to live in the moment and if others do this also, that will be a good thing. My good friend said it well: Happiness is created by me, not given to me.-Bonnie Gortler Another way to say this may be: World peace is created by individuals, not given to them by governments. We become what we think about is echoed over and over in self-help programs and religions: think/be peaceful for a smile on the 21st century.

We love romantic partners, parents, siblings, children and friends. But we also love baseball and movie stars, Twitter and i-phones, pizza and beer. Love is the subject of poems, songs, movies and theatre but do we really know what love is?

Religions say God is Love; a close personal love that is so intimate, nothing can be hidden. Divine Love is accepting, forgiving, understanding and compassionate. Religions also teach that Almighty God, who loves unconditionally, will punish sinners and that we are all sinners.
The Catholic Church withholds Communion or in extreme cases, excommunicates disobedient members; controlling the soul's destiny in this life and the next.

I could never understand why we have "free will" that if exercised, can cause eternal damnation...It is no wonder we live in a world of fear. People learn to condition love on adherence to a set of expectations. If conditions are not met, love is withdrawn. This tainted love manifests through a complicated web of control called "co-dependent love".

In the mid 1970's, I spent a week at a commune called "Cornucopia" in a workshop based on the book "The Handbook to Higher Consciousness" by Ken Keyes Jr. . My class mates, all older than I, processed decades of programming about being "good enough" to deserve love. We learned self-love was the ultimate pre-requisite to sharing unconditional love. It was at that workshop I learned we all have fears and insecurities that when hidden, keep us from sharing love openly and genuinely. Many people at the workshop dissolved a life of prejudice and misperception in a flood of emotional release . . . then received abundant, unconditional love and acceptance. The sense of belonging and euphoria was life-changing.

Everyone needs and deserves love. Love frees us from being what we think we should, to be who we really are; individual expressions of divinity.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33872009-11-23T11:22:28-05:002009-11-23T11:22:28-05:00Right-Action in Action: Terena Meador & http://www.Bikertogs.comWith no end in sight to the rampant unemployment, more and more Americans find themselves out of work, out of savings and out of time, with little hope for gainful employment anytime soon. Internet job searches, recruiters and professional networking websites intended to facilitate global employment matches have become a whirlwind of activity that yields withered fruit. Job fairs, computerized application processes, screening interviews and unpaid training periods keep job seekers running in circles without relief. Franchises, Multi-level marketing programs and distributorship opportunities replace salaried employment postings, offering no security and often including an initial investment.

As Unemployment Insurance extensions expire and bills pile up, many people are faced with difficult decisions and few options. Terena Meador is one of those people backed up against a wall by an unprecedented blow to American workers, but instead of caving in to the mountain of desperation, she chose to create her own solution by pursuing her passion and doing what she loves.

‘tude vox Ro: Tell us about your career and what happened to cause your lay off.

Terena: In Feb. 2009, I was laid off from my Finance Manger Position due to our declining economy. Unfortunately, businesses had to cut back on expenses to keep their business viable. Why? Because people couldn’t afford to spend additional money due to the inflation on all necessary items (Groceries, Gas, Utilities, etc.). Unfortunately, these cutbacks did not have anything to do with loyalty to the company, time on the job or seniority. They were simply based on “who they could keep that would work for less wages, experienced or not, and be able to maintain their business until the economy changed”. Layoffs put a lot of experienced individuals out of work, with only a small window of landing the same salary elsewhere. This is the issue I experienced. Each job I applied for required more and more with less wages.

‘tude vox Ro: After you got laid off, what did you do to look for conventional work and what were your results?

Terena: From Feb. until August (6 months), I stayed on the computer everyday, all day, submitting resumes and networking with very little response. The interviews I had in that period of time were with people like me, expecting to get the job based on work history, work ethics, loyalty etc. There were those with very little experience, with none of the above qualifications that were willing to accept the position for less money. Companies did and are hiring people with less experience and requiring higher educational credentials.

Note: Education does not always override those with experience. Does this help their business? Well, being a person in finance, yes. In the short term these companies are saving money by hiring people and paying less salary. Hopefully, these people will know what to do to make the company a profit . . . Will they? Probably not. Experience says it all. These companies who trying to save money will loose money and go through many employees before they realize, it is more profitable to pay the higher salary to have the right person on board, with both the education and the experience. This is what makes company or breaks a company.

‘tude vox Ro: What made you decide to start your own business?

Terena: After six months of sitting at the computer networking and submitting resumes, like everyone else in my same circumstance, I decided “I want to do something different. I want to expand to other opportunities. I will make it because I can!” http://www.bikertogs.blogspot.com/

At this point, I decided to start my own website with idea of selling products at a low price. I believed that an online web merchant would aid in this process if I sold products they would make money, too! What was the reality of my new venture? Don’t be fooled! This company received their money up front for the site and the wholesale options. Support? What is that? For another fee, they could help more. NO! This is when I talked to a good friend of mine in Alabama that builds websites and also does hosting.

August 13th we launched Bikertogs.com. By November 19, 2009, we have had over 22,000 hits with no S.E.O. marketing or advertising. We wanted to have the site 100% before we spent the extra money. We are close to having a fully featured website with more being added daily. I know we have accomplished a lot in a short period of time.

‘tude vox Ro: How did you know what to do to start your business?

Terena: Starting a business comes from the heart and soul to make it work. Nothing is ever easy and simple. There is a saying, “Life is what you make of it! “Make it bad, it will be bad. Make it good, it will be good!’ I am a firm believer that a positive attitude, determination and continuous effort put forth in any business will make it prosper. The important thing to remember is that it DOES NOT happen overnight. So, patience and determination is definitely a virtue in any business or career. Most importantly, everyone is not going to say “Yes, I love your company and/or product” . It takes a lot of “NO’s” to get the “Yes’s” that make a difference in a company’s bottom line.

‘tude vox Ro: What products do you sell on your website?

Terena: Our website focuses on custom made products and music “Made by Bikers for Biker and their Friends” & “Made in the USA“. Due to the economy, many Americans buy what they can afford by comparing brands, sizes, etc. What they do not realize is that they are buying products mostly coming from overseas countries. With this being said, my question is …Why are people losing their jobs in the USA? Where is most of the USA money going? Does anyone actually know? Better yet, are we, as individuals in the United States, doing something about it? Are we supporting USA made products to create more jobs in the USA?

‘tude vox Ro: Why did you decide to sell Biker supplies?

Terena: I always enjoyed riding a motorcycle and the freedom you feel for that brief ride. The best way I can explain that is “Stress Relief”. Everyone has their own way of dealing with stress. For me, getting on the bike, no worries, letting the fresh air brush my face, letting go of all my thoughts and worries for a short period of time, is indeed stress relief. I soon learned to respect the whole “Biker community” because they are all a family. Biker’s support each other. They support families in need, our military, charities, USA products, and each other as a family.

At this time, ok, I had been out of work for six months….I chose to do something different. My site is about “Bikers helping Bikers” and “Supporting Products Made in the USA”. I am proud of our site and what we have accomplished in a short period of time and “This is only the beginning!”

‘tude vox Ro: How do you feel when you are working on your business?

Terena: Working on my own business gives me a sense of self worth that can’t be explained. Sometimes, just adding that new product to the site, a newsletter or that new magazine article, puts a smile on my face. Talking to someone about promoting their product fills my heart and soul with happiness. Each of us can make a small difference in this world and I refuse to focus on the bad things in life. I will make the best of it all. Why? Because I Can!

‘tude vox Ro: How do you find the courage to risk time and money to pursue a career in something you love?

Terena: After being unemployed for six months, your attitude changes about a lot of things. I choose to make the best of everything, with the resources available to me, which means work, work and work some more and never taking “NO” for an answer. Determination!

I received a lot of outside support from the vendors, new friends met during this experience, all without asking, freely given. I am very thankful for all their suggestions, comments, support, etc. In some ways, you could say, these people gave me the inspiration to make my dream a reality.

‘tude vox Ro: What would you like your business to be like in the future?

Terena: Bikertogs.com will be one of the most viewed sites for bikers in the future. I will not change anything about the importance of the site. I will continue to keep my chin up and making the best out of life and what it gives to me. We all need to focus on how we can make a difference in our economy by supporting USA made products and helping others understand this importance.

‘tude vox Ro: Thank you Terena. I really enjoyed reading your answers. We share some of the same circumstances and ideas. I think a lot of other people feel the same way. We can’t always decide what happens to us, but we can choose how we will react. I applaud you and the growing number of others empowering themselves to become their own solution and intentionally co-create their world. Thank you for being an example and inspiration.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33882009-11-23T09:17:05-05:002017-02-01T14:03:16-05:00Change Your Life By Changing Your Mind – with MusicWhen asked the question “What type of music do you like?”, many people respond “All kinds” because it often depends on mood. Happy moods can call for celebration music, love songs and prayer. On the other hand, dark moods often reject messages of peace, love and justice, recoiling in fear and separation.

Places of worship, education, employment and association commission custom-designed songs that reflect values, beliefs and calls for action, specific to the group. Industry has studied the ability of music to persuade and influence for decades and become proficient at its marketing uses. Many mothers’ monitor changes in music listening choices as a sign of society influences that may call for parental intervention. Music matters.

Conscious selection of music is a useful tool for personal growth because the message circumvents the rational mind, reaching the sub-conscious for immediate acceptance. Although the study of this science is beyond the scope of this article, watch an introductory video about it here.

People who actively choose music with lyrics that support and reinforce thoughts contributing to success have an advantage over others. If the music is good, listening is fun and easy, often changing moods, influencing opinion and inciting action instantly. Many people listen to and sing along with music for relaxation, exercise, social interaction and fellowship. Regularly listening to consciously selected music supports intentional thinking, leading to life-changing behavior. The emerging “Positive Music” genre includes a wide variety of musicians dedicated to entertaining people with songs to co-create a better world.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33792009-09-22T16:16:59-04:002009-09-22T16:16:59-04:00Right-Action in Action: Sibel Edmunds & David KrikorianThis is a story about Sibel Edmunds, a nationalized Turkish-American citizen who believes in what the United States stands for and David Krikorian, an entrepreneur running for US Congress and the grandson of Armenian genocide survivors, fighting for truth in government.

Sibel was hired by the FBI after 9-11 and given top-secret security clearance to translate documents from suspected terrorists. David is running against U.S. Representative for Ohio Jean Schmidt, who he has accused of accepting campaign contributions from the Turkish government in return for her denial of Armenian Genocide. Both have shown courage and perseverance in their efforts to bring transparency and justice back to our country, at great personal expense.

This complicated story is an example of how personal interest and greed is woven throughout the fabric of government and how one person can make a world of difference by having the courage to speak her truth. It includes corruption, bribery, conspiracy, cover-up and more than I can begin to cover in a blog article. But the most important part of this story is the urgency required by individual people like you, the reader to take small actions that make a huge difference.

Sibel was fired from the FBI for questionable reasons after she demonstrated concern to her superiors about serious breaches in national security, including suggestions that 9-11 was not entirely a surprise and officials taking bribes to further Turkish interests. Then there were gag orders keeping her from testifying in Court claiming “national security” - and no one in the mainstream media would cover her story. Finally last month, Sibel was allowed to testify thanks in part to David’s vocal support.

David claims Jean Schmidt accepted “blood money” from the Turkish government in return for her genocide denial. Schmidt is suing David. They are going to court on October 1.

Both Sibel and David are real-time examples of Right-Action in Action because 1) honesty, 2) perseverance through years of ridicule and political consequences for speaking out, 3) courage to upset the status quo and 4) because this is an opportunity for people like you and I to make a difference to the people making a difference for us.

These stories are still in progress. They could be significant in setting the direction of free speech in the United States and even more significant in the rights of everyday people taking a stand against our government in light of abuses and fraud. Don’t take my word for it. Do an internet search on the names in this article or visit Bradblog.com, The Baltimore Chronicle, The Huffington Post and now even The American Conservative Magazine.

Then be one of the voices calling out for justice anyway you can.

Visit David’s website here and Sibel’s website here. Leave a message of support or donate money. Spread the word in emails, blog articles and in forums. Write letters to the paper, television, radio and internet news organizations demanding they investigate these threats to the United States as we know it. Contact your government representatives and ask them to explain the claims Sibel makes. Let them know you are following this story. If enough people take notice and then take action, we can make a difference.

Then what ever you do, please recognize yourself demonstrating Right-Action in Action by telling us what you did below. Thank you.

'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33862009-09-17T10:24:42-04:002009-09-17T10:24:42-04:00Right Action In Action: Dr. Steinberg, DDSIn the midst of hardship and suffering, it’s necessary to recognize there are a growing number of everyday people doing the right thing. Whistle-blowers losing jobs, customer service representatives working late and today, my dentist Dr. John Steinberg, DDS make a world of difference in a different world.

“Right-Action in Action” is a new blog series to call out and recognize the seemingly small acts of compassion that collectively can affect the direction of society. Everyone has tools, gifts and kindness that when shared, make the world a better place. Too often we give attention to the con-artist, liar or crook instead of the stranger who returned the $10 bill that dropped out of a pocket or sales clerk who worked 10 minutes late to help an elderly person carry packages to the car. I’d like to help change that.

As I allude in recent songs, the past few years have been financially wicked for me. Intuitively knowing the world was filled with misfortune I can not change, I spent the past couple of decades idealistically perceiving life as things are presented to be and wondered why they are not. This past year, I have awakened to that which always was but is now vividly apparent. Then I got a tooth ache.

I know when I have a tooth infection and know it costs a lot of money to fix. The reason I know what it costs is we’re still not done paying for my husband’s last root canal, earlier this year. I’m not fond of dental work anyway, but without health insurance or income, I was in tears. If I let the infection fester, in addition to causing excruciating pain, if unattended, the infection will kill me.

I’ve been going to Dr. Steinberg for more than 10 years. He has always been attentive, friendly and competent. His staff is exceptionally organized and compassionate. I don’t want to be a statistic of preventable deaths used for health-care reform so I scheduled an appointment. Although Dr. John and his staff are always a demonstration of right-action in action – by the way they practice, today he deserves a special commendation.

The economy in Michigan is miserable. Even “recession proof” businesses experience declining revenues because people have either relocated out of state or simply do not have enough money to live. Dr. John’s office was more quiet than usual. He gave me the anticipated news and the option – of extraction. My thoughts drifted to the homeless people I’ve seen on the streets and in parks, gumming the remains of a discarded fast-food product.

Then Dr. Steinberg did something exceptional. He offered me a discount for the root canal then told me about quality care I could get at a dental school for a fraction of the cost. At a time of decreasing revenue, my dentist recommended a lower cost solution. He sent me home with a necessary prescription and cut my price for the office visit. Although the trip was only 5 hours long, every 20 minutes or so, one of us kids would ask "Are we there yet?" The journey seemed like forever back then (before vehicles came equipped with DVD players, cup holders and snack trays). Yes, it aggregated our parents. But the three of us were bored to tears, cramped in the back seat of the family car - impatiently anticipating being showered with love and gifts.

Lately, I feel the same way. Looking at the job market, Wall Street trends and the increasing concentration of wealth, I'm not the only one who feels abandoned by society. With a surplus of workers, millions of families find they no longer qualify for what they now realize is the "privilege" of food, shelter and medical care. At the same time, more and more people are getting involved through internet activism, government channels and peaceful demonstrations, determined to make things right.

In the past few months, I've seen the world in a shadow I've never realized existed. A combination of anger, outrage, fear and grief erupt in response to an overwhelming assault on the masses. Like driving a stick-shift in a rush-hour jam, there's nothing more I can do to reach my destination . . . until the traffic clears.

Glastonbury is said to be the heart chakra of the planet and is the destination of many a spiritual quest. It is also said to be the mystical Isle of Avalon and the burial place of the legendary King Arthur. I developed a quick interest in the town when Mark Ellis, Presenter of the Year at Glastonbury Radio, first featured my music on his show "Roots & Branches".

Mark Ellis plays an eclectic mix of music for the open minded music lover. Needless to say, I love Mark Ellis and Glastonbury Radio.

In just about any religion or "enlightenment training", participants are encouraged to memorize and recite words to support and encourage healthy thinking. Thoughts, words, feelings as well as actions have energy to create, directed by our intention. Songs are word-energy infused with the power of music to communicate and share. Music is a powerful means to program the mind. The message circumvents the rational mind (the one that judges, analyzes and evaluates), going directly to the subconscious to accept the suggestion. Listen to Michele explain it at SassyAlternativeMusic.com (scroll down to "Celebrity Endorsement").

I've always had a passion for singing meaningful music. But when I was young, I adopted Capitalistic ideals. My family cautioned me about the "starving artist" syndrome so I earned my living in business ... until 2008. That's when the promise of a reasonable income for an honest day's work expired. My passion for singing and consciousness evolution merged into collaboration with exceptional musicians from all over the world to create radio-quality music with a message of hope at a time the world needs it most. Indielink was born out of an idea that Independent Artists of any and all walks should have a place to hangout, to share, to grow and to unite. The site is run by three musicians, dissatisfied with status quo in the music industry (guys after my heart). The establishment rarely produces quality, creative music. It has a cookie-cutter format with artist that are fabricated to "sell". PLASTIC!

I am one of a growing number of artists who are not even interested in "getting signed". Creativity and profit don't seem to mix in today's version of Capitalistic Practice. Because of sites like this, artists like me have a chance to earn our living by living our passion. It is not conceited; it is not rude and does not act unbecomingly. Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. "It may be easy to look around our world today and see the appearance of chaos, difficulty and strife. Yet, when we come from an open heart, we can also see our opportunity to love all things into balance, joy, harmony and peace. This planet does not need more visions of desperation, fear, doubt and hate - it requires an abundance of love, especially unconditional love, to heal and restore the beauty contained in every moment. This becomes the easier path once we take the first step and begin to share our love.

When we bring unconditional love back into our personal, professional, community and family lives, we begin the journey of restoring wholeness and happiness to our planetary adventure. Of course it takes determined effort on our part as the old ways of being are quick to return in our mind. However, this effort to love is rewarded with a new perspective on everything and all life benefits as a result."

For as long as I can remember, I've envisioned a world where honesty actually is the best policy, superior products and services provide a profitable living for owners and employees while benefiting the consumer without harming the planet, people relate to others as family and we view differences among us as the foundation for improvement. I had nearly given up hope for humanity on planet Earth in 2000. Then in 2008, a critical mass of people came together and did what I thought was impossible; elect a president who is compassionate enough to understand people, wise enough to lead the most intelligent minds toward great achievement and humble enough to know he can’t do it alone. Barack Obama promises to be a transformational president, turning the United States (and influencing the world) toward a new era of personal responsibility.

Now encouraged by hope for a brighter future and inspired by 10.6% unemployment in Michigan, I applied for a position with the Obama Administration – along with 7 gazillion other MBAs. But unlike most, I wrote and recorded a song to include with my cover letter called “Yes We Can!”, available for purchase at SassyAlternativeMusic.com/Downloads.

President Obama is the first leader in a long time to call the American people, business and government into immediate action. For far too long, we have been satisfied to sit on the side-lines, complaining about the state of affairs and leaving it to someone else to fix. No wonder we have a society where the nation’s wealthiest prosper when the average worker finds himself out of work, out of savings, maxed out on credit cards and demanding a bail-out.

It may be helpful for Obama critics to realize Barack is not the first to preach personal and professional responsibility. A couple thousand years ago, there was a guy called Jesus of Nazareth who said a lot of the same things. In fact, there’s a book that many people fearing the actions of the new president might know. It’s called “The Bible” and talks about personal responsibility too. Check it out.

An article in BibleMoneyMatters.com states “I think this lack of personal responsibility is one of the biggest problems we face today as a society. Much of the credit crunch and foreclosure crisis we’re having can be placed squarely at the feet of people’s lack of responsibility. People are buying into the lie that there is always someone else to blame (and someone else to depend on) and as a result find them selves paralyzed when it comes time to make wise financial decisions on their own. They feel powerless. We live in a consuming society where if we want something - we buy it. Never mind the consequences. We’ll just blame someone else for our money problems later on!”

But personal responsibility is not limited to Christianity. In a Buddhist article at Allspirit.co.uk it says “We can stand on our own two feet and take responsibility for acting in a virtuous way, regardless what the rest of society is doing.”

An article called "Truth or Consequences" Discussion and Study Guide by Dr. Alan D. Bennett, he says “Judaism demands personal responsibility. . . In short, we are free to choose how we act, and, therefore, we are responsible for the inevitable consequences of our behaviors.”

The Mission Statement for the Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP) reads “. . . Through the building of relationships and participation in collaborative interfaith community service efforts, CAMP – Charlotte aims to encourage pro-social values such as understanding, tolerance, respect, kindness and personal responsibility.”

At Witchway.net, personal responsibility is one of the defining principles. “Traditional Wicca is a religion of personal responsibility and growth. Initiates take on a particular obligation to personal development throughout their lives, and work hard to achieve what we call our "True Will", which is the best possibility that we can conceive for ourselves".

I checked Spiralnature.com to find out if Satanism had anything to say on the subject of personal responsibility. One of the primary beliefs is “Satanists believe in striving for perfection of self (power)”. It goes on to say “If you’re good at what you do, you’ll be successful. We all have the ability to be good at SOMETHING; we all have our abilities and weaknesses. . . DO something, BE something, ACHIEVE something…then you’ll have respect. Being a failure and doing nothing to change that results in a lifetime of…well….being a failure.” That sounds like personal responsibility to me.

In a Taoist article, it says “We must, each of, us take responsibility for our own emotions, for our own relationships, for our own habits, for our own destiny”. The title of a Hindu article by Jayaram V is “Empower Yourself By Accepting Full Responsibility For Your Life”. What about Atheists? “As mankind can dictate right and wrong, an atheist also holds strongly to the principle of personal responsibility”.

Since “personal responsibility” seems to be inherent in every religion or philosophy around the globe, I consider it to be a Universal Principle; a thread of truth interwoven throughout creation. Instead of lamenting over injustices we do not deserve, we are being called to action so we, as the human race, can resolve our problems and move forward in peace and love.

What are you doing to take personal responsibility for your circumstances? Please comment below.
For this post, we’ll use the Wikipedia definition: In casual usage, "miracle" may also refer to any statistically unlikely but beneficial event, (such as the survival of a natural disaster) or even which regarded as "wonderful" regardless of its likelihood, such as birth. Other miracles might be: survival of a fatal illness, escaping a life threatening situation or 'beating the odds'.

The plane crash of last week is called a miracle. Why? Nobody died or was seriously injured. This miracle was caused by people. The miracle is that everyone did what was in the highest and best use of their time and talent for the good of all. The pilot used his skills and experience to land the plane safely. But that wasn’t the end of the story. He landed in the river, in frigid waters that could have killed everyone. Every day people, busy at work moved in to help. People on the street gave support to help the survivors stay warm. The people on the plane followed instructions when they thought they were going to die.

In an article called “Create your own miracle” by Michael C. Rann and Elizabeth Rann Arrott, they say “Miracles happen through natural and normal circumstances, and the "new science" of quantum physics is proving that we are--every one of us--already wired for miracles. The reality is that every one of us can consciously take control and work to create a miracle or miracles in our lives. We are not victims of a random existence in a confusing and possibly hostile world. Life is for us, not against us. Not only is it possible to experience a dramatic healing or find the perfect solution to our problems, but it's also possible to express the dream or desire that we haven't dared pursue up to now and to learn how to bring such wonderful experiences into our lives more often”.

Miracles are caused by people moving outside the small self to experience the wholeness of life. Please add your examples of everyday miracles.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33752009-01-10T12:20:00-05:002009-01-10T12:20:00-05:00Nothing can stop you but YOUIn “The Science of Getting Rich”, Wallace Wattles says that no matter where you are or what position you are in, if you act in a Certain Way, you will become rich. “It is true that existing governments keep the masses in poverty, but this is because the masses do not think and act in the Certain Way. If the masses begin to move forward as suggested in this book, neither governments nor industrial systems can check them; all systems must be modified to accommodate the forward movement”.

But with the state of today’s economy, it’s difficult to maintain right thinking. Many of us spend time thinking about how we are going to pay bills. That’s ok as it relates to action needed today. But what about the time we spend worrying about next month? That is time spent back-tracking. Wonder why your good eludes you? Maybe you spend too much time pushing it away. If thought fueled by belief draws the object to the thinker, opposite thinking can send it packing.

Wallace Wattles says “When you make a failure, it is because you have not asked for enough; keep on, and a larger thing then you were seeking will certainly come to you. Remember this”. Now I look at it as a direction away from that market. Maybe if I were to be “successful” in the “spiritual” niche, I would not be successful in a bigger niche. Modern business and personal coaches agree.

In an article called Embrace Failure By Byron Pulsifer, it says “Failure goes hand in hand with success. In other words, failure allows you to back up and re-load, to dissect what went wrong, what went right, what not to do again, what should be done differently, or faster, or more efficiently. It tells you what you need to learn, what information you should digest, and prepares you to know success when you've attained it.

Failure is also a pointed test on your perseverance, your commitment to do what it takes, and your ability to move over, around, bypass, or turn obstacles into advantages. Think of failure to get to pint A by taking a certain highway only to find your way blocked by a fallen tree, or a bridge that has washed out. If you simply turn around and find your way back home, you've not only experienced failure to get to point B, you've clearly demonstrated that your desire to get to point B wasn't strong enough, that you allow any obstacle to sway you from your course, and you've allowed yourself to make an erroneous assumption that there wasn't another coarse open to you”.

Anthony (Tony) Robbins is quoted as saying “I've come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy”.

This post wraps up this series about “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles. What do you think about this line of thinking?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33742008-12-27T07:38:16-05:002008-12-27T07:38:16-05:00Start NowAlthough “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles was written decades ago, the concepts hold true today, to an increasing degree. To advance toward being rich, the individual must take actions of faith, not fear; starting where he is now to create riches for himself under ANY circumstances.

No matter where you are, proper mind-set and the actions resulting will move you toward your goal if you let it. No matter what your job or function, start now. Since thoughts create feelings which lead to words and actions, when you have a desire filled with purpose and act in a “Certain Way”, you will become a demonstration of success from where you are now.

To quote Wallace Wattles, “Do all the work you can do, every day, and do each piece of work in a perfectly successful manner; put the power of success, and the purpose to get rich, into everything that you do. But do not do this merely with the idea of currying favor with your employer, in the hope that he, or those above you, will see your good work and advance you; it is not likely that they will do so”.

Why? Because it is better for your employer to pat you on the back, scratch behind your ears and keep you working for him. Employers degrade, insult and reprimand employees to convince us we are nothing other than the profit we generate for the company. How many of us believe what they say? Today, with global competition, selfish greed and deception rule.

At HumanRightsforWorkers.com, Robert A. Senser says “What does it mean to be competitive with everyone from everywhere for everything? When unfettered competition drives economic policy? It means, as some Southern senators have proposed, cutting the wages of Detroit auto workers to the level of those who work for Japanese-owned non-union plants in the South. It means, too, something that pro-competitive advocates won’t discuss: gradually bringing the wages of all American workers, white- and blue-collar employees, in line with the wages of workers in China and other competitive countries in our bigger world”.

Robert A. Senser goes on to say “[G]lobal rules have been improved to protect the rights of businesses and their organizations. No, they still do not cover the rights of working men and women and their organizations. The international labor market, for most of the world’s working men and women, is still a lawless jungle”.

Blue-collar workers have been fooled into believing their interests are represented by the Union when its greed and deception is rampant. At UnionFacts.com, they state “Most people don't know just how many crimes are committed every year through which union officials hurt their own members. The number of reputed and verified crimes is staggering. Nothing illustrates this more clearly than the hundreds of indictments of union officials for violations of the Labor Management and Reporting Disclosure Act. According to the Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS), those crimes include “embezzlement, filing false reports, keeping false records, destruction of records, extortionate picketing and deprivation of rights by violence.””

White collar workers are not immune to this trend either. Back in 2003 in USA Today, Stephanie Armour and Michelle Kessler said “General Electric Co. confirmed yesterday that it will begin laying off salaried workers in its Louisville-based Consumer & Industrial division this week as part of an estimated 5 percent reduction in the division's global work force”. That was only the begining.

Until recently, many of us quietly acknowledged the vast difference between the very rich and the rest of us. As long as we could sustain a moderate life-style with limited interference, we went to our jobs, kept our heads low and prayed to keep the income stream flowing. With the economic meltdown, record unemployment, rising costs and more competition, many of us are no longer tolerant of the discrepancy between the “haves” and the “have-nots”. Facing unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy makes it easy to fall into desperation.

Earlier this month, Ray Massey and Becky Barrow said “Hundreds of thousands of workers are accepting effective pay cuts to save their jobs as the recession continues to bite, it has emerged. Amid fears that unemployment will rise sharply next year, unions are agreeing negotiated income reductions in an effort to stave off redundancies. Yesterday representatives of 25,000 steelworkers at Corus were locked in talks with management amid speculation they are set to agree a 10 per cent pay reduction”. But acting out of desperation is the opposite of walking in faith, or as Wallace Wattles puts it, acting in a “Certain Way”. The mental processes of the desperate keep them desperate. Desperation is fear. Fear is a lack of faith. Faith and desperation can not co-exist. So what do we do to advance ourselves in this current economic situation?

I love what Wallace Wattles has to say about this subject. “If a few thousands of its employees would enter upon the Certain Way, the steel trust would soon be in a bad plight; it would have to give its workingmen more opportunity, or go out of business”. Imagine what would happen if one month, everyone who feels underpaid and unappreciated stops working? Business would collapse – starting with the biggest corporations! They need workers more than workers need them. Workers just don’t know it.

Many of us were raised to believe the big corporation would take care of us our entire life-time. That is no longer true – if it ever was. Still, employers expect loyalty, even when they don’t pay enough for basic survival. They don’t care if you work 2 full time jobs just to struggle for food. All they care about is maintaining status quo. The people in charge are not necessarily bad people; just doing what they think is required to survive. Doctors, police officers, politicians, religious leaders, sales people and clerks at the store may start out with honorable, cooperative intentions. After years of trying to make a difference, they feel the pain of dissention, lose their job and feel forced to conform. Except for the very rich, society is brainwashed to believe they can not make a positive difference in their spears of influence and survive. Thoughts, feelings, words and actions conform. Belief makes it true. So we stop trying.

Only when individuals begin to think and act in “A Certain Way” will they feel confident to negotiate their own terms of employment, say “NO!” to unreasonable demands of employment (even if it means termination) and begin to get rich. Do you act out of fear or faith?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33712008-10-06T15:05:15-04:002008-10-06T15:05:15-04:00Getting Rich in the midst of a meltdownThis is an interesting time to experiment using “The Science of Getting Rich” method, beginning with the mortgage meltdown leading to today's global financial crisis. The next chapter in the book is most difficult to do when we need to do it most. It’s called “The Impression of Increase”.

Wallace Wattles talks about “feeling” rich. I read a forum entry describing this process. Phil, a master contributor at the Science of Getting Rich Forum shares his story. “I’m in an industry that has been hard hit by the mortgage meltdown. A few months ago, many of us were up for our annual raise, something that has occurred for years without a hitch. But due to the times, our manager had a special meeting with us. It came from the 'higher ups.' He announced that all raises were off. No one was going to get a raise. It simply was out of the question, due to conditions being what they were.

My reaction? I didn’t feel bothered in the slightest. Why? Because everything I’d been learning has been teaching me that circumstances or conditions have absolutely NO POWER in determining the quality of my life; only ** I ** do. I just silently told myself, I will always be fine, no matter what. I checked in with myself to see how I was feeling, and I felt fine.

So, guess what happened? It was about a month or so later, my boss quietly takes me aside. He tells me he’s gotten me the largest raise an hourly person can get. But it wasn’t really a raise. (All raises were off. Remember?) He tells me he couldn’t give me a ‘raise’ per se, so what he did was, he got me a Job Title change, with a higher base pay, because he really felt I deserved it. He was so delighted, like a kid who figured out how to break into a candy jar”.

Admittedly, it seems easier to think in A Certain Way when we have a home, food and means to maintain those necessities. Have you ever wondered why “the rich get richer”? They have a head start. In Science News, a phenomena called "preferential attachment" is analyzed. “Real-world data -- whether distributions of wealth, size of earthquakes or number of connections on a computer network -- often follow power-law distributions rather than the familiar bell-shaped curve. In a power-law distribution, large events are reasonably common compared to smaller events”.

But there is another approach called “fake it till you make it” that can be used to move into a life of increase. At ShoeMoney – skills to pay the bills, rkelly writes “I learned pretty quickly that if you’re confident and make it seem like you’re a somebody, people will think you are a somebody. Then, you “fake it” while you acquire those mad skills and knowledge necessary to actually be that somebody. Ta-da, self-fulfilling prophecy.

I’m not saying you should lie to people or pretend to be something you absolutely aren’t. … My point is that if you’re starting out and are new, just be confident. People pick up on that and will respect you much more than if you’re a Nervous Nelly all the time. Believing in yourself means that people will believe in you, and soon you’ll become that expert you were half-pretending to be in the first place”.

Wallace Wattles cautions us not to twist this philosophy toward power over others. The economic disaster is directly a result of selfish gratification. Greed is a competitive mode of acquiring that can be lost in a day, like the stock market. The attitude of increase is a cooperative mode of operation that increases life for all. Anything lost can be recovered multi-fold, by using creativity for the good of all.

Especially during this time, when many of us are thrown into survival mode by circumstances far out of our control, creativity and cooperation are the keys to long term success. It’s easy to feel wealthy when we have a stable source of income, our investments are increasing and our home is worth more than we owe. But the way we behave during the hardest of times is what defines us each as individuals.

How will you be defined?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33732008-09-16T13:45:27-04:002008-09-16T13:45:27-04:00Right LivingWallace Wattles discusses getting into the “Right Business” as a process. First of all, we need to take a look at 1) what we are good at and 2) what we want to do. It’s very simple but often eludes us. How many people are doing what they said they wanted to do when they were kids? If you are one of those who make a living doing what you love, PLEASE comment below.

But the rest of us usually lose our childhood fantasy somewhere between college and kids. We allow ourselves to become convinced that it reasonable to make a living doing what we love and opt for “stability”. Then someday, we finally realize that “stability” outside ourselves is an illusion.

In his White Paper on “The Illusion of Stability”, Dyke Suematsu says “Every time our definition of the world changes, our conceptions of who we are change, and vice versa. This schism is, like everything else, a binary pair that is dynamically and constantly shifting like a yin and yang symbol. It makes us play the game of stabilizing and destabilizing. And, it unnecessarily causes us to struggle and suffer.”

The idea of a commissioned sales job was the furthest thing from my mind when I graduated from Wayne State University in 1984. I wanted stability. By 1991, I had a salaried job as a corporate Trainer when realized that politics is more important than performance on the corporate ladder. Even then I had little patience for deceptive practices of ass-kissing and bribery. So I took the leap of faith that changed my life forever.

Fast forward 17 years. My husband, long-time friends and my connection to perfect music partners came directly from the mortgage business. Now, during the mortgage meltdown, record high unemployment and yesterday’s stock market crash, I know that the stability I sought as a college student doesn’t exist. When the mortgage business no longer became my Right Way to make a living, it went away.

The monthly cycle of bills often has us in a hurry for our right vocation to show up. Wallace Wattles says that whenever we feel we are rushing, stop. A hasty decision or one made out of fear is often the wrong one. He says that we should never engage in what we don’t like to do unless it is required to do the things we want to do. In other words, when the bills are coming due and the savings is dwindling, take the best opportunity available to you so that you may be further led toward doing what you want.

At New Dimensions Media, there is a MP3 by Marsha Sintar called “Right Living and Making Money Too!”. She says “Living your dream and following your heart are possible for anyone willing to engage life with passion, according to Sinetar, an organizational psychologist, who has studied many people who have become successful doing what they love. Self-esteem, overcoming resistance, accepting and forgiving oneself, taking risks and more are addressed in this visionary yet practical view of merging life and work. The mainstream definition of success undergoes a considerable metamorphosis in this dialogue.”

What do you want to do?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33602008-09-01T10:55:00-04:002008-09-01T10:55:00-04:00Efficient Action"It's not what you do but how you do it". That's basically what Wallace Wattles says in Chapter 12 of "The Science of getting Rich". But so many of us get stuck in stress-related inertia. Inertia is blamed on anger, injustice, helplessness, etc but is just an excuse for not taking efficient action. We get into the rut of thinking "Why bother?" evaluating every action on the expected outcome. The actions we've taken in the past are inefficient because they are not done with FAITH and PURPOSE, says Wallace. We labor out of fear, based on competitive rather than creative motivations.

Wallace says that when we act with FAITH and PURPOSE, we have no idea how any trivial act can manifest into a miracle. That "chance meeting", like meeting my husband at work, would have never happened if I hid in the sales office that day. Results may not be tangible immediately. Successful action is defined as action taken with FAITH and PURPOSE.

To summarize:

A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.

Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.

On the Official Webs Site, it states "The Secret explains with simplicity the law that is governing all lives, and offers the knowledge of how to create - intentionally and effortlessly - a joyful life. This is the secret to everything - the secret to unlimited happiness, love, health and prosperity." Creative Visualization is a great start. But it is also an excuse for staying stuck. "There are only two types of people: 1) Those who Master The Secret and Apply it (Winners of the game of life!) 2) The rest, including those who think the secret is about just visualizing and daydreaming" states Dr. Eric Amidi, Quantum Physicist
How many times have you said “I’ll be happy when ___________ happens”? So we wait and wait and wait until God blesses us with his miracles. That doesn’t work because as of yet, humanity has not developed the ability to manifest something out of nothing. All things that come to us, come though established, physical world phenomena. We can’t win the lottery unless we play. Sure, our thoughts will increase the odds a bit but most likely, the winning ticket cannot land in our hands unless we buy a ticket.

The same is true with creating our life-experiences. We can’t “think” ourselves into our dreams without action. Our thoughts impress upon the formless stuff of the Universe but only our actions receive good. A Christian friend of mine recently said “God likes people who work”. He’s right. We have to take right-action as guided by our higher self toward our life-passion with Faith and Purpose. But what he doesn’t quite get is that we can’t make it happen consistently, in a competitive mode. We need to allow it to happen creatively and gratefully open ourselves to receive.

The best things in my life happen as I joyfully go about my business of living. I’ve met people during the course of daily activity that have changed my life. Most of the time, I’ve resisted these people only to find out years later their significance. Nothing good would have happened if I lived life in my bedroom, dreaming about being a zillionaire. I go out and am available to receive the blessings of life.

Thinking in “A Certain Way” primes the mind to take right-action. Acting “A Certain Way” is the necessary next step toward riches. Working in the now, not lamenting about the past or dreaming about the future, makes us available to receive.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33702008-07-19T12:05:00-04:002008-07-19T12:05:00-04:00Magic: Black or WhiteIn his book “The Science of Getting Rich”, Wallace Wattles talks about use of will to achieve goals. He says, “It is wrong to apply your will to other men and women, in order to get them to do what you wish done”. That’s what I call black magic. People with good intentions often interfere with those they love by focusing on what they want for others, rather than what is best for everyone involved. I agree with Mr. Wattles when he says using mental power to coerce people is the same thing as using physical force.

“People must be taught to become rich by creation, not by competition. Every man who becomes rich by competition throws down behind him the ladder by which he rises, and keeps others down; but every man who gets rich by creation opens a way for thousands to follow him, and inspires them to do so.”

The method of getting rich requires releasing any thoughts of coercion to acquire wealth. There is no negotiation with “God”, begging or pleading required. The formless stuff of the universe is waiting to act upon our creative thoughts. The only will required is in directing thoughts.

Every thought makes an impression on the formless stuff of the universe. Every thought is a step. The direction of each step is determined by the focus of the thought. Thoughts about lack, limitation and injustice are prayers for more of the same. Conversely, every thought of hope, fulfillment of dreams and achievement of desire is movement towards the goal.

To summarize the first 10 chapters, Wallace says “There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and in which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created. In order to do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; he must form a clear mental picture of the things he wants, and hold this picture in his thoughts with the fixed PURPOSE to get what he wants, and the unwavering FAITH that he does get what he wants, closing his mind against all that may tent to shake his purpose, dim his vision, or quench his faith”.

Thoughts become feelings. Feelings become words. Words become actions. Actions get results . . . always. They may not always be the results we want. They are always the results we’ve earned. That’s tough to swallow when things aren’t going my way. It is so much easier to complain about the injustice of the system and think about the elaborate conspiracy theories of a shadow government, designed to enslave humanity than it is to move forward in spite of it all. That’s the most important time ever to reshape daily thought.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33692008-06-30T07:50:00-04:002008-06-30T07:50:00-04:00Thinking in “A Certain Way”In “The Science of Getting Rich”, Wallace Wattles discusses the importance of focus in attaining wealth of any kind. We need to get a clear picture of the end result in our dreams and visions. But that isn’t enough to make it happen.

Contemplation and meditation are great tools, but alone cannot manifest riches. I learned “visualization” techniques back in the early 1970’s. It took me another 30 years to discover why these techniques create my experience. The reason they work is the feeling generated in this state of mind. The energy generated at this level actually causes attraction to the desired goal. Energy spent in anxiety and fear push away the desired goal. To actively attract our desires, we must have passion of purpose. Passion is something deep inside that causes momentum; motivates us toward action.

Humanity has a plethora of passionate causes under an umbrella facade of charity. This divine nature in people is often exploited by greed and motivated by fear of lack. People who most need the gifts of charity often suffer due to the politics of executing distribution. Dollars often flow to the most marketable recipients instead of the more needy. Huge infrastructures are built around kindness to a point of suffocating the ends in the expression of the means. But that’s enough of my pontificating for now.

Instead of defining our individual passions, we often seek expression through an established community. I tried to do the same thing with my music. When I discovered my passion was for singing songs that affect spiritual awareness and growth, I looked for a group to join. As a busy business woman, I had no time to organize the group I visualized and no source of financing to make it happen.

Being me, the “eccentric” idealist with a unique perspective of Divinity, I couldn’t be content with a church choir or community theatre. That would have been far too easy. . . So instead, I take the long road; the scenic route toward enlightenment. Every step of the way, I hear and see Divinity directing my course of action. This is the passion Wallace discusses: The passion of purpose. I define the purpose of my music as “contributing to the consciousness evolution of man kind”. I wrote that before I knew I could compose or even write lyrics; about 6 years ago.

Wallace discusses one more thing about creating that often seems to be the hard part for many people: Faith. Faith and certainty of prays already being granted is the key to activating whatever needs to fall in place for Divinity to deliver good fortune.

In my experiment of manifesting lucrative licensing agreements on my songs or something better, I am learning to have faith that whatever needs to happen, is happening. I don’t try to pretend to know the “right” person to send my music or beg friends for favors. I’m actively engaged in believing Divinity knows better than I what to do. All I need to do is hear my inner guidance and move in whatever direction I’m shown. Every time fear of lack creeps in (like the bill-paying time of month), I know that every need is provided in perfect order.

Can you relate?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33682008-06-15T13:10:00-04:002008-06-15T13:10:00-04:00GratitudeIt’s easy to be grateful when we get what we want . . . because we get what we want. Then we get more of what we want because we are grateful. It is a continuous cycle, feeding off self-generated momentum, forever expanding into Infinity. But the same energy, directed away from gratitude creates a self-fulfilling prophesy of doom.

Science is beginning to study the effects of gratitude. Robery a Emmons, University of California is conducting an experiment called Dimensions and Perspectives of Gratitude. He says "Gratitude is the “forgotten factor” in happiness research. We are engaged in a long-term research project designed to create and disseminate a large body of novel scientific data on the nature of gratitude, its causes, and its potential consequences for human health and well-being. Scientists are latecomers to the concept of gratitude. Religions and philosophies have long embraced gratitude as an indispensable manifestation of virtue, and an integral component of health, wholeness, and well-being. Through conducting highly focused, cutting-edge studies on the nature of gratitude, its causes, and its consequences, we hope to shed important scientific light on this important concept."

Even business is getting on the gratitude train. Charles D. Kerns, PhD says "Gratitude is not just a "feel good" emotion when it comes to organizational life. It can benefit an organization in many ways. When an employee believes his or her superiors are grateful for his or her work, the employee will benefit by having an improved sense of worth to the organization. This improved sense of worth can lead to performance improvement, thereby benefiting the organization. Further, the person expressing gratitude benefits from that expression, which also may positively impact the organization. For instance, research has shown that persons who are genuinely grateful may be more optimistic, experience improved health, and perhaps even have extended life spans. All of these benefits also potentially benefit the organization for which that person works."

There is a lot of work done on applying gratitude in life. Here's a Zen perspective:

How to Live a Life of Gratitude

The thing is, simple acts of gratitude don’t cost you much (especially once you get over the initial discomfort some people feel with thanking others). But they can make a huge difference.

If you’re interested in living a life of gratitude, here are my suggestions:

Morning gratitude session. Take 2-3 minutes each morning to give thanks, to whoever or whatever you’re grateful for. You don’t have to do anything, other than close your eyes and silently give thanks. This one act can make a huge difference.
Say thank you. When someone does something nice for you, however small, try to remember to say thank you. And really mean it.
Call to say thanks. Sometimes you might think about something nice that someone did for you. Perhaps you remember during your gratitude session. When you do, pick up the phone and call the person, just to say thanks. Let them know what they did that you’re grateful for, and why you appreciate it. Takes a minute or two. If it’s too early to call, make a note to call later. Even better is telling them in person, if you happen to see them or if they’re on your route. Almost as good is a thank-you email — keep it short and sweet.
Give thanks for “negative” things in your life. There’s always two ways to look at something. Many times we think of something as negative — it’s stressful, harmful, sad, unfortunate, difficult. But that same thing can be looked at in a more positive way. Giving thanks for those things is a great way to remind yourself that there is good in just about everything. Problems can be seen as opportunities to grow, to be creative. See the prayer below for more on this.
Learn a gratitude prayer. There are many prayers, religious or not, that can remind you to be grateful. Find one you like, and print it out or make it your desktop wallpaper. Here’s a religious one, and here’s a collection from a multitude of religions. You can find many others on the Internet, or write your own. If you’re not religious, make one that doesn’t include the concept of God."

Gratitude is a state of mind in which belief is essential. Maybe that’s why it works. The act of believing sets thought in motion. Gratitude affixes attention to the good that we have rather than lack. Wallace talks about how thought activates the formless stuff of the universe to create. But can we be grateful when we don’t get what we want? It takes a bit more creativity, but sure.

In Michigan, April unemployment was 6.9%. There are thousands of applicants for every opening. For those of us who don’t have paid employment, it’s not such a good time. People with jobs are making less and working harder than they did last year. A year and a half ago, I applied for a Director of Employer Assisted Housing with a local non-profit organization. When I interviewed, I knew I had the job. It was mine. But then something happened. Politics is what happened. They hired an internal candidate. I cried for days.

Last week, politics happened again. I was silently indignant and insulted as I flashed bright smiles of enthusiasm. I was disappointed for a day but then changed my mind. This time I’m looking at it differently. After a brief rant upon returning home, I refused to discuss it for a day. The next day, I verbally processed the situation and realized that the political demonstration is a blessing. I’m grateful to know now, so I don’t involve myself in unnecessary drama, get hurt feelings and miss out on something better. Besides, being grateful leaves me open to finding ways to exploit the connection for mutual benefit that would not otherwise be possible.

Either way, my immediate need isn’t met. But this way is more fun and puts me in a better state of mind to receive. What disappointment can you rearrange into gratitude?
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33612008-06-03T15:40:00-04:002008-06-03T15:40:00-04:00“How Riches Come to You”In his book “The Science of Getting Rich”, Wallace Wattles explains that people get rich because it is the pleasure of Divinity for everyone to express life more fully. “The rich get richer” because they have the resources, knowledge and experience to navigate life toward more wealth. They have the tools for success because they believe they are successful. The thoughts and feelings generated through belief cause the Infinite to work in harmony with our desires.

This century, it seems that wealth is generated by cheating and deceiving others. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, Wallace Wattles says to pay people more than the cash value of what ever you take from them. That is the key to creating and maintaining wealth; by giving more.

Ok Wallace. That looks great on paper. But I’ve been through the ringers and I can tell you from experience, it doesn’t always work that way. Anyone else agree? I just retired from the mortgage industry . . . in Metro-Detroit. I did all that with my originating branch but melted down. I obeyed the laws and rejected fraudulent applications. I gave exceptional service for the same price as competitors that wouldn’t even return a phone call. I approved other company’s rejects. And I didn’t sell any of those “Option Arms” that my competition used to steal my clients; only for them to lose the house in foreclosure due to small print “he didn’t tell me about”.

With a few months distance from that drama, I can now see that I wasn’t flowing with the mortgage industry at all! I was insistent on maintaining my ethics. Those ethics, combined with the limitations of being a small company and the devastating economic environment in my marketing area no longer allowed me to make a living. That’s why riches didn’t come to me through the mortgage business. Besides, I’ve never been interested in mortgages anyway.
So now I do things a Certain Way, like Wallace talks about in the book. I’ve entered the entertainment industry, not because I think it is less nasty than mortgages, but because I really love entertainment. I’ve always loved to sing. I’ve always expressed myself through rhyme. I partnered with exceptional musicians and wonderful people. I'm being Divinly guided into music.

As I read “The Science of Getting Rich”, I was reminded of the visualization techniques I learned in the early 1970’s. It’s important to really understand exactly what we want to achieve, acquire, attain . . . We need to picture it in the mind, focus and consume ourselves in the goal. As a scientific experiment, I decided to create licensing agreements on my songs. I selected that specific goal because it is possible, but the “chances” are very low (better than the mega-lotto and I occasionally buy a ticket).

As I finish my CD, focus on promotion, arrange distribution and form a gig-band, my goal is to attract commercial licensing interests.

Thanks for reading and making comments. The next part to the science of getting rich is gratitude. Come back soon.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33672008-05-22T18:32:54-04:002008-05-22T18:32:54-04:00The Science of Getting Rich 3
It’s good to be rich.

It’s good to be rich. That’s what Mr. Wattles, author of “The Science of Getting Rich” says.

I’d have to agree. But some people like to believe God thinks they should be poor. That’s not true – unless you claim Unfathomable Wealth & Power as your deity. No one wants us to be “poor”, “struggling”, “getting-by” or even “comfortable” except Unfathomable Wealth & Power; a very human collection of individuals, fooled into accepting the appearance of limited supply by excessive greed and selfishness.

Wallace Wattles doesn’t editorialize nearly as much as I. He talks about the difference between getting rich to enrich life and getting rich to win. If we can believe our universe is forever and ever expanding, it makes sense that more generates more. One seed can produce an endless supply of fruit because it forever multiplies.

The “formless stuff” of the universe is activated by thought to produce the subject of the thought. Matter is created out of nothing – at least nothing we humans can understand. When I was in high school, we learned about “spontaneous generation”. That is creating a generation of rats, for example by letting garbage cook, undisturbed, in the summer sun for three days. Science made notable progress in reducing illness and death by understanding relationships related to sanitation. Can you imagine the progress humanity will make when we scientifically explain the relationship of thought to manifestation? Do we really need to wait for science to explain a relationship before we use it?

On one hand there is getting rich “to win”. If people are selfish and greedy, they hoard the very best of what they believe is limited supply. Competition, by its very nature, assumes limited supply. All competitive intentions lead to win-lose situations. The bad news is that win-lose situations are temporary. Ask Donald Trump - or anyone who is conspicuously wealthy.

On the other hand, every human has a right and an obligation to be rich. Being rich allows people to continue making more of life, with life, for life. Rich people live healthier, more productive lives. Rich people do more things for more people than poor people. More and more people are becoming and staying wealthy by giving up the myth of limited supply and having faith in Infinite Supply.

I look forward to exploring “How Riches Come to You” next time. Happy Memorial Day weekend.
'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33662008-05-12T11:23:37-04:002008-05-12T11:23:37-04:00The Science of Getting Rich 2“There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought, in this substance, Produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created”.

Wallace Wattles, “The Science of Getting Rich”

Wallace Wattles, author of “The Science of Getting Rich”, says the first principle is thought. Thinking activates the “Formless Stuff” of the universe, to deliver the thought. Like exercise to the body, every thought contributes to the manifestation of the intended results. Also like exercise, results may not become apparent after the first attempt.

Persistence is required to manifest thoughts. Faith during the appearance of failure is absolutely necessary. The action required to manifest results is impotent without absolute belief in efficacy of the process.

I once heard a metaphor of the expectant mother. A woman prepares for her child, arranges her house, life and relationships around the expected baby. The woman behaves like a mother, becoming aware of relevant issues to people with children. She goes shopping for the baby, tells everyone about the baby . . . joyously awaits the arrival of her child.

We don’t have to understand how a process works to use it. Humanity reproduced well before science explained how the process works. With the faith of an expectant mother, we can believe the process will deliver results; every time for everybody that uses it - especially in the appearance of failure.

That’s big.

Next time I’ll review Wallace Wattles’ concept of expansion. In the mean time let me know what you think about all of this by emailing ro@sassyalternativemusic.com or clicking the comment link below.

Wattles. It reminded me of the Universal Principles I learned decades ago. The book doesn’t get into details of why the principles work. Instead, it is an application manual. How cool is that?

“The Secret” and its interpretation of the “Law of Attraction” drew a lot of controversy. One argument is the simplicity of using the Law of Attraction to become materially wealthy. Although few of us take the necessary actions to move beyond dreaming into co-creating our own perception of reality, I take exception to criticism of the Law’s simplicity.

I don’t need to understand how electricity works to brighten my home at night. If my home is wired properly, electrical appliances are connected correctly and I follow the operating instructions, I can use electricity for anything I want every time. Simplicity works.

The author of the book begins with a discussion of humanity’s right to be rich. Material wealth can be a means of living a fuller, more successful and therefore, more productive life. To earn a living doing what one loves is everyone’s dream. However, most of us learn “it doesn’t work that way”. Those who believe “the rich get richer when the poor get poorer” contribute to the accuracy of that belief in their lives and the lives of those whom they influence. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Material wealth can contribute to the betterment of the world. It is our right and obligation to be wealthy. The author explains that there is a science to getting rich; a procedure that if followed properly, works every time. He calls it doing things a “Certain Way”. Credentials, talent, money, personal contacts and skill are not necessary to acquire material wealth. Look around. Most everyone has heard of people who succeed against all odds and predictions. They do things a Certain Way.

“The Science of Getting Rich” insists that opportunity is not monopolized by the elite few. Opportunity abounds at every step of life. The difference between a wealthy person and a poor person is the way they act and think. Wealthy parents teach their children the Certain Way of doing things that made and keeps them wealthy.

The author claims that there is an infinite supply of wealth. He says the universe is literally made up of “Formless Stuff” he calls “Original Substance” that acts upon any thought impressed upon it to manifest in the material world. It is the nature of the universe to move toward more life.

The author encourages people to set aside the logical, rational mind and allow themselves to believe, with absolute certainty they deserve to be wealthy, have the ability to acquire wealth and the ability to control their thoughts. Everyone thinking and acting in a Certain Way will be rich.

Let me know what you think about these concepts and how they apply to your life by commenting on this blog or email me at ro@sassyalternativemusic.com. Grief and mourning are defining characteristics of humanity. Scientists dig up pre-historic relics that indicate ritual burial ceremonies to bury the dead. Grief is ingrained in our DNA . . . but we don’t like to feel it.

Ironically, we as “civilized people” often demonstrate grief and suffering for perceived loss as well as physical death. We lament about everything from the traffic jam to the client who wants to “wait a while”, swing over to the stock market crash and land upside down with a pink slip. These perceived losses are really Life forcing us to slow down, regroup, reality check and move forward. When we don’t listen to Life, we get stress: a slow, painful death. Now that is sad.

Grief is healthy when it helps us move past loss and grow.

Today’s post is about how it feels when life goes Primal.

As I pondered my quest for enlightenment, I realized that life isn’t always about love and compassion. Quite the opposite is true. Life is the constant struggle of human emotions, ranging from primal to divine and the choices we make. The journey toward enlightenment can only be successfully made by fully realizing ALL healthy emotions, not just the pleasant ones.

For discussion, let’s name the primal emotions lust, fear and grief. Lust: the basic instinct to eat and reproduce. Fear: the survival based fight or flight response. Grief: the life-crippling emptiness caused by natural or unnatural devastation. Today’s entry is about grief.

Look around just about anywhere to find devastation. Loss of life, limb, peace, property, liberty and livelihood are daily news headlines. On the macro level, we can efficiently remove ourselves from consideration as the cause or effect by seeing it as happening to someone else. But on a micro level, when devastation hits personally, it’s a different story. Some people completely withdraw: become callous and refrain from feeling the pain. Others cry, lament or otherwise fully express the emptiness of grief, then later vow to make the world a better place. That’s where the grieving process comes in.

Keshia Ashley, my circle-dancing, fast-running, rug-rubbing, super-sonic, tail-wagging, music loving puppy dog died yesterday, unexpectedly due to inconclusive reasons at 8 years old. Everyone who met Keshia loved Keshia; especially her mom and dad. I write this post at my impromptu, open-cardboard box private viewing with tears streaming down my face.

How can this and all of the other devastating loss I’ve recently experienced be for the “Good of All?” What does the “Good of All” really mean? How would the world be different if everyone felt the grief of others as his or her own? I really want to hear from you. I'm still working on "Pay Day Blues" and hope to release it next week. I keep saying that but I'm getting close. I'm very excited to have recorded the sexy saxaphone harmonies of Scott Sumner last night. Randy Lynch laid some sweet guitar a month or two ago and I've even elicited the assistance of prominent public figures. "Pay Day Blues" is a message of Hope from Detroit, to Detroit and the rest of the world.

I'm also working on a song called "Surrender". In February this year, I was privledged to have Scott Sumner, Randy Lynch and Jim Orzel gather for a jam session. They recorded the instrumental break in "Choose Now". After that, they made even more majic happen. With Scott on the keyboard, Randy on the guitar and Jim on the drums, they played for over an hour, improvising some of the coolest sounds to hit the planet. A couple of months later, I noticed that a two year old song I hadn't put to music fit perfectly to one of the jams. It's all about making the law of attraction work in our lives. Finally! It is about time humanity begins taking responsibility for our circumstances. We have free-will. That is the secret. We choose our thoughts, feelings and actions (or inaction) that creates and perpetuates our lives as we know it. For some of us, that is a bummer. Looking at situations we see as "negative" as we acknowledge our free-will puts the responsibility squarely on us. Not that we are responsible for the economic factors and outside influences that bring us challenges, but we are responsible for how we feel about them and our reactions.

For example, when the guy in charge of your pay check lets you know he thinks you're not good enough to justify your salary (and you can't even afford your bills) so he threatons your livelihood, you can react with depression or realize that this is not in line with your highest good. You have choices. Do you believe he is right or is he reacting out of his own insecurities? You can choose to do nothing and end up on unemployment. Or you can look for work. Or you can find your passion and get into a new field. You can even choose to align yourself more fully with the requirements of the job and blow his mind with your success. It is up to you.

But "positive thinking" isn't the answer ("the answer is love"). Positive thinking is step one. Step two is feeling blessed. It is this internal "knowing" that creates "belief". Faith is the key to manifesting miracles in our every-day lives. We must believe it is so to the inner core of our being to make it happen. Because Divinity is Principle, IT ALWAYS WORKS.

At the time of this blog entry, it is 8 out of 118 in Dance (first page of the charts! ).

If that wasn't enough excitement, I learned that "Do Me" is scheduled to be featured Hip-Hop track of the day at http://www.GarageBand.com/go/8SMKH424S3 on Wednesday, January 24 AND Dance track of the week beginning Monday, January 22.

Thank you to everyone who is supporting my music career. My good news for this week is "Do Me".

First of all, I was at a bachelorette party on Saturday and realized, "Do Me" would go down great at these types of gatherings. Don't know why it didn't hit me sooner. The . . . entertainer . . . ahem . . . liked to . . . ah, entertain . . . while he was listening to this song. I don't think the wife-to-be minded too much either. I got his card and decided to introduce that industry to "Do Me".

But even more exciting, "Do Me" got moved up to the 2nd round of competition at Garage band! It was 8 out of over 100 in Dance when I checked this afternoon. It was doing ok in the parent genre, Hip-Hop too. C'mon baby. Do me!'tude Vox Rotag:www.sassyalternativemusic.com,2005:Post/33482006-12-26T15:18:06-05:002006-12-26T15:18:06-05:00"Best Female Vocal" - Again!Hi! Merry Christmas!! My music is getting mixed reviews. Some think it is awesome. Others think it is . . . different. But controversy is the key to getting noticed. I'm following my heart by walking my own, unique path toward the good of mankind. With your support, we can make a difference. Please tell your friends and family about "The Answer".
