"Until the Bliss" recognizes anger and frustration as a signal for change, delivered in a Rock/Spoken Word style

Lyrics

Until the Bliss
Music by Scott Sumner, Lyrics by Rosemarie Ashley

My name is Ro. I’m here to steal the show.
Not a compromised hoe, humping pimps for the dough.
I learned to say “No”; stand out of the flow;
move forward and grow; dream and make it so.
After some time I got down with my rhymes.
Like the best type of wine, the years make me refined.
Now, reaching my prime, in front of the line,
with intent and design, I claim what is mine.

Chorus

So I’m here and I’m hot. It’s my career to make you rock.
Listen close to what I say. Who fears the most becomes the prey.
So I’m loud and I’m mean. I’ve got a crowd and we’re obscene.
The twisted world we’re living in is pages curled and paper-thin.
Yea I’m out and I’m mad. It ‘aint about life being bad.
To make some light come out of this, we’ve got to fight until the bliss.

I’ve had my fill trying to fit the bill,
ignoring my own will for someone else’s thrill.
You’ve been through the drill. Conformance instilled
through circles until you make yourself ill.
Finally, I’m done. This game cannot be won.
They’ll chant in unison until oblivion.
So I have begun this movement of funk
as I jettison past phenomenon.

(Chorus)

Now, step aside from that counterfeit pride.
Buckle up for a ride that is one of a kind.
‘Cuz thoughts in your mind are yours to define;
to shape and define the light that you shine.

I’m working this song as I learn to be strong.
Some folks will be drawn. Others think that I’m wrong.
But darkness is gone. Put a sign on your lawn.
Be part of the dawn where we all belong.
